'Iron Man 2' goes 3-D; 'Ghostbusters 3' comes calling

iron-man-2-320.jpg"Iron Man 2" will offer a new dimension when it hits theaters.

The superhero sequel will be simultaneously released in 3D at Imax when it comes out on May 7, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Paramount Pictures film stars Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as billionaire Tony Stark who battle enemy Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke). Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Samuel L. Jackson and Gwyneth Paltrow also star in the film.

In other movie news:

 - Who you gonna call? Ivan Reitman! The "Ghostbusters" director is back on board for the third film in the franchise. He's been part of the development process as a writer and producer as well. Reitman told MTV that he intends to begin shooting the film "this next year."

 - On the heels of Oren Aviv's ousting as Walt Disney Studios production chief, chairman Rich Ross selected Sean Bailey as a replacement. Bailey is currently a producer on the remake "Tron: Legacy." He's also produced "Gone Baby Gone" and "Matchstick Men."

 - Lionsgate has acquired the rights to Phoenix Pictures' adaptation of the "What to Expect When You're Expecting" books. The ubiquitous pregnancy bibles will be adapted by Heather Hach, who received the book when she was pregnant. There are no specifics yet on what the story will be except for a heartwarming comedy.

Looking forward to seeing the new Iron Man Movie in 3D. Loved Avatar when I saw it at the imax last week

this is fake 3d it was shot in 2d don't fall for this scam folks

why???????????????????????????????????????????

This is being converted? Who is doing the work? There are a lot of companies who claim to be able to do this work but produce horrible results. The article implies 3D will only be in IMAX. Maybe IMAX is doing the work themselves (same people that did Harry Potter, Superman, etc).

Oh wait... check out the IMAX press release. No mention of 3D.
