Gay dating site ManCrunch: Is their ad Super Bowl-worthy?

mancrunch-gay-dating-ad-320.jpgIs CBS not into the man love?

A gay dating site called ManCrunch.com wants to get in on the Super Bowl XLIV commercial action, but have been told that oops, too late, no more spots are open, reports the New York Post.

ManCrunch spokesman Dominic Friesen is calling BS: "It's clearly a form of discrimination that we're getting the runaround, that we're not being told the truth. Quite frankly, there is a lot of ad space available -- a lot of the companies that typically advertise during the Super Bowl are not advertising this year."

Check out the ad and see what you think.

Incidentally, CBS has also rejected one of the two GoDaddy.com ads that was presented this year because it appeared homophobic.

This year, the bad economy has forced CBS to reevaluate its stance against running advocacy or political ads (like ones for PETA) during the Super Bowl. Now the network says that as long as they're "responsibly produced," they're OK.

In particular, an ad from Focus on the Family featuring 2007 Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow and his mom has received criticism since many see it as an anti-abortion ad since Pam Tebow had refused to have a recommended abortion after falling sick in 1987. Tim was the result of going through with the pregnancy.

Focus on the Family CEO Jim Daly has maintained that the commercial isn't political and that it's pro-family.

Unlike Focus on the Family, ManCrunch is not an advocacy group but a commercial site.

So what do you think? Do you think all the ad spots are taken or is CBS refusing ManCrunch for other reasons? Is the ManCrunch ad up to Super Bowl quality standards?

Yeah, if you're going to run anti abortion ads then you should definitely run dating ads.

Focus On The Family is one of the biggest crocks of you know what there is. Homophobic, intolerant and downright offensive. James Dobson is a bigot. Shame on CBS for airing anything that sham of an organization is trying to sell. CBS continues to reaffirm my choice to not watch anything they have to offer.

If I'm going to have the anti-abortion lobby shoving their agenda down my throat during the Super Bowl, then a gay dating website should get a nod as well. Since I'm usually up getting snacks and such during commercials, it won't matter much to me anyway, but what's good for one group is good for another.

No one whats this gay crap shoved in their face all the time but it is. And yet you have a problem with one ad that promotes keeping a baby instead of killing one. Shame on you all.

Gays in the media are portrayed as drag queens, scantily clad muscle men, or overty flamboyant queens. This ad suggests an insidious truth – that gays could be regular, everyday people who even love football! Shocking. CBS is clearly discriminating. No one would refuse money in this economy.

If they want gay, lets show a couple of hot chicks making out. Everybody wins!

CBSis clearly discriminating. Advertising for a Gay dating service is just like any other advertisement. Either your interested, or your not. No big deal. But then for them to Broadcast this anti abortion ad. That makes no sense. Do they really think people are gonna see it and say..hey..yeah...i guess i should never consider abortion even if it puts the mothers life at risk...thanks CBS!

Hey "Jesus Saves", what if the child being saved due to not having an abortion later on in life turns out to be gay, would you approve abortion then?

This gay Crap has got to stop. The country has run amuck with this PC crap. Gays do not have the right to infringe on the mainstream people. These horrific parades they have should be enough to make people rise up and demand our learders through these nuts in jail. I am not a religous man but the anti-abortion people are at least trying to save lives and the gays are trying to destroy 200 years of traditional marriage. NUFF SAID

Queers, I dont want to see that bullsh*t when I'm watching football. To Moltar, I like how you think, but the site is called Mancrunch. Doesn't sound like any poon is allowed unfortunately.
