Craig Ferguson weighs in on Leno, Conan, NBC on 'Late Late Show'

craig-ferguson-320.jpgCraig Ferguson took a few shots at the NBC kerfuffle on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" Thursday night (Jan. 7). Watch below.

We love the way Ferguson manages to walk the line of supporting his late-night compatriots while still getting in a number of digs at the mess NBC is making.

We've always thought Ferguson was an underrated late-night guy -- he's really quite funny. We were hoping he would take a specific shot at the fact that NBC really appears to be screwing Conan O'Brien with his pants on but perhaps that would be just a little too on-the-nose.

When I TiVo Craig, I pick up the show 30 minutes into it because I find him so boring, so into himself. How he can go for that length of time before bringing out his first guest is beyond me. But his audience does like him. Their choice, of course.

I love his show. He's so funny. And Conan isn't getting screwed. He's turning in record low ratings for The Tonight Show. He needs to be gotten rid of. Plus, he's just not funny.

Isn't Craig a person of transgender? If so, you'd think he'd be more upset about this:

Ferguson is a true gentleman and a gracious host. I sent my assistant to a taping once and Ferguson brought him back to hang out in the green room w/ the guests before the taping. For a young person making little money, it made a great moment you can't buy. PS, this is about NBC not wanting to pay a penalty on guaranteed $'s for Leno, it has nothing to do w/ ratings. If anything Leno hurts LN ratings, low LN ratings hurt Conan. Now who's responsible?

Yeah, where is Carson Daly in all of this? LOL Craig you are "The King of Late-night". Whenever your boss David Letterman decides to retire and if he wants you to take over "The Late Show" you better take it.

Craig is the BEST and way underrated. His skits are hilarious!! Our DVR is set for him every night and he has class, which is more then you can say about Letterman. Conan isn't funny at all and never should've been given the Tonight Show to begin w/, he's only getting what he deserves. NBC screwed that one up big time.

I LOVE Craig Ferguson!! He
makes me laugh out loud, i'm
glad he's not on NBC. I'm
not worried about Conan, he
has a very strong fan base,
IF he leaves NBC another
network would be quick to
snatch him and Andy Richter
up.

People who think Conan isn't funny must LOVE bland faux-entertainment.

NBC cancelled Conan once before but he kept going until he found his audience. He'll do it again. NBC blaming their woes on the talk shows that come in second in the ratings, when every one of their prime time shows is coming in fourth, is pathetic scapegoating.

Also, late night audiences are older, and Conan's audience is younger. It'll take time for his fans to get in a routine of watching network television before going to bed. Giving Conan the spot was based entirely on potential, thinking five to ten years down the road. Canning him after six months is dumb as Hell, so naturally I expect NBC to do it.

Thanks for the clip--I had missed that one. Ferguson is very funny.
