'Cougar Town' welcomes Barry Bostwick
Barry Bostwick is Laurie's boyfriend's dad.
Yes, that's right, Laurie (Busy Philipps) has got a boyfriend, people.
And no, it's not Grayson (Josh Hopkins).
Sure, they hooked up this week. But there will be no mad rush into a committed, romantic relationship for those two.
In fact, I'm told there will be much energy spent trying to hide the hook up from Jules (Courteney Cox). Also, we haven't seen the last of Smith (Ryan Devlin).
Smith is the "bf" I speak of and he will be back from law school for Valentine's Day, along with Barry Bostwick whom, sources say, has been cast as his pops.
Bostwick worked with "Cougar Town" creator Bill Lawrence on "Spin City," playing Mayor Randall Winston from 1996 to 2002.In 2003, he did a guest spot on Lawrence's "Scrubs" as well.
UPDATE: ABC confirms that Bostwick will play Smith's father in "Cougar Town"'s Feb. 10 episode.

Bill Lawrence sure is a bit like Joss Whedon when it comes to casting. He always uses the same people for his shows. It's good actors though, so I don't complain :)

My mom thought I was crazy last week when I said that Grayson & Laurie would hook up.
Yeah, he is indeed a really nice guy, Korbi. I'm a big, big Scrubs nerd and had the opportunity to communicate with him on the official Scrubs boards and out of nowhere I got a script for "My Finale", signed by him, in a contest I didn't even really enter.
This script, in my heart, is one of my most precious posessions now, no doubt.
Drat! I was hoping you'd say Busy Philipps would be hooking up with Bostwick :-) Perfect show for it, don'tcha think?
