'Big Love': Oh Big Ben... and mommy Margene!
What do you do when your dad's third wife is a fox and just a few years older than you?How do you proceed when you're a teenage boy becoming a man... a man who's in love with one of his mommies?
Well, I suppose getting naked in a room with her isn't the worst idea.
Check.
And confessing your love for her shortly thereafter should be part of the plan too.
Check.
Though Ben (Douglas Smith) did both these things on "Big Love" last season, neither move yielded more than Margene (Ginnifer Goodwin) getting all weirded out and warning him that it must end.
What a difference, however, a year makes.
When Ben stormed into Margene's house on Sunday night and got in the face of that bully J.J. (Zeljko Ivanek), protecting her and the babies from his menacing threats, we fully fell in love with him.
Wow, was that a hot moment.
Talk about a boy becoming a man.
And we weren't the only ones who noticed.
When Ben, the bad ass, later canceled his band gig and was the only one who showed up to support Margie while she worked, she was overcome.
Can you blame her?
That sort of virility coupled with the tenderness and love he clearly has for her melted us.
We would've kissed him too.
Yep, mommy Margene made out with her husband's eldest son Ben.
Oh boy!

Should Ben and Margie run off together?

Margie belongs with someone her own age. Bill is too old for her. She never had a chance to be a young woman before she became a wife (one of many) and mother. Go for it Margie.
No, I don't want to see ANYTHING between Ben and Margie. I adore both of them but OMG, what a horror something like that would be.
I really felt for Margie last night - she needed her family and hopefully that kiss was just a reaction to seeing someone, ANYONE. I believe that she loves Bill, but he'd better start paying some attention to her. She IS young and he's in such a wierd, selfish phase right now - he's going to lose all of them if he's not careful.
No kissing, no nothing between Ben and Margie. Blech!
Even though I had some misgivings about a show about polygamy at first, Big Love has become my favorite show ever. but this just makes go EWWW EWWW EWWWWWWW when I think about that kiss.
Those 2 should run off together. Bill doesn't love her. She's just a booty call for him. Ben trully loves her.
it would kind of be cool if just bill and barb wound up together (again) in the end and niki and margene branched out on their own.

Bill is a self-righteous jerk, so why not.
I think the Ben/Margene storyline is reflective of real challenges that arise within poygamus communities (hence the young men are driven away).
I don't think that Margene loves Bill, she loves being loved, and the Henricksons were able to offer her what she never had growing up - a sense of family.
I'd like to see Margie run off with Ben, just to stick it to Bill and his patriarchal and condescending ways. I think I've seen Ben spend more time with Margie's kids then Bill ever did, they probably think he's their father anyway.
Margie and Ben belong together.
Is it odd that I sorta love uber creepy JJ?
YES THAT IS ODD!!! But Zeljko is an amazing actor.
