'American Idol's' Adam Lambert: 'It's time to get some leverage'

Someone advised Adam that joining the recording industry is all about building a fanbase and he thought "American Idol" would help him do that. He also never thought he would make it as far as he did on the show.
Adam's episode of "On the Record" covers topics from the loneliness of middle school to coming out of the closet to collaborating with Pink on "Whataya Want from Me." It airs at 8 pm ET Monday, Jan. 11 on DirecTV channel 339 or EchoStar 158. For cable subscribers, check your local listings.

Can't wait to see this!
Don't quote me world. But damn I never realized how attractive this man was before.
Adam is someone I LOVE to watch, He will be around a long time! The man has super talent! If he wasn't on Idol last year, I wouldn't of watched, I found most of the others boring, The red head ? Allison? and him were the only 2 that had my attention, Adam was Great! He should of won but him not winning was the best thing for him. So he's gay...I don't wanna date him just hear and watch him. I really hated how Clay hide being gay, Adam tells it like it is! Good for him, Never be ashamed of who you are. Adam rocks!
Adam is the total package. Great looking, sexy and mega-talented, with an incredible ability to connect with his audience that few other entertainers have, he'll be a star for many years to come. He made Idol worth watching last season. As far as him not being the winner, I think that was the best thing that could have happened to him. He's not the kind of entertainer who would want to be put in a box and made to perform the way everyone expects an Idol winner to perform. I think people are having a hard time dealing with the fact that he's not going to be that kind of artist. He's his own man and a unique performer. His sexual preference has absolutely no bearing on his talent.
Lambert, hmmm? Isn't he that guy running behind Archuleta and Aiken on a poll of best AI non-winners? Not to mention Daughtry.
To Cat. Dream on! Like it or not he came to stay. Because his talent is incredible!
wow cat, you sure do troll all adam stories, please get over it , you wanted to go out out with him, he rejected you, nicely, but you have to get over it and stop acting so fooishly
OMG Adam is such a lovely man. I hope so much that he catches on big so we can hear and watch him forever. Go Adam!
Adam is in RollingStone this month, as one the of the biggest misses of 2009.
Babs; Yeah, I saw that. I'm surprised that a new artist who only had a song/album out for 4-6 weeks of 2009 would be considered by RS to be a disappointment. I would think they would be more realistic. Was his Idol stint a disappointment? The tour? TFM? All but the AMA performance by Lambert have been stellar. Jeez, Adam has been saddled with so many incredibly unrealistic expectations, it's a wonder he's able to function at all, let alone so magnificently. People need to chill and let this talented man have some space. It takes time to establish yourself as an artist. I don't think his talent, performance skills, personal charisma and compelling presence have diminished because his first songs have not been instant hits. Thank God he seems so strong and grounded amidst all the madness.
