'American Idol': Wish Adam Lambert a happy birthday, give to charity

Adam Lambert may be celebrating his 28th birthday Friday (Jan. 29), but he doesn't want your gifts ... for himself.The "American Idol" runner-up has requested that fans donate money or supplies to support music and arts programs in public schools.
At DonorsChoose.org, Lambert has selected some of the neediest programs from around the country. Among the things requested are sidewalk chalk, instructional music DVDs, rugs and carpets, a digital camera, a xylophone, 60 recorders, a laser printer, folding risers, glockenspiels and numerous other musical instruments.
Aww, isn't Adam such a giver?
Adam has another reason to celebrate today. His video "Whataya Want From Me" is the No. 1 video on iTunes. He also shares a birthday with Oprah Winfrey and recently appeared on her show to perform "If I Had You."
