'American Idol': Who's the best 'Idol' winner ever?

Are you on Team Kelly or Team Carrie? Are Jordin Sparks and Kris Allen underrated?And is anyone still a member of the Soul Patrol?
We'd like you to answer all those questions by simply answering one: Which of the eight past "American Idol" winners is the best?
Kelly Clarkson (season 1) and Carrie Underwood (season 4) have had the most successful careers since their time on the show; both had spots on Billboard's artists of the decade chart. Each of the first seven winners has had at least one album certified platinum (a million copies sold), while season 8 winner Allen's debut has moved more than 200,000 copies since its release in November.
But those are just numbers. We want to know your opinion. So vote in the poll below and defend your choices in the comments: Which Idol rules them all? (And don't worry if you think someone who didn't win is better than all these people -- we'll have a non-winners poll later this week.)
Season 9 of "American Idol" premieres next week -- Tuesday, Jan. 12 on FOX.

Kris made a solid CD.

Kris is definitely underrated... i dont really know about Jordin cus i dont really listen to her, but she does sound beautiful... i love kelly and david too and carrie is amazing also, but I think Kris is definitely the best!
His voice is like heaven! It's so smooth and muscular and his style is unique in a subtle yet passionate way.
um. you should be able to write in adam lambert to this poll.
Hick's debut CD was certified platinum but it never sold a million copies. It only sold approximately 700,000. So Hicks and Kris are the only idol winners to sell less than a million copies of their debut albums.
The media purposely ignores Kris Allen cause they are to busy pushing the gay agenda with glamberace.
Kris for sure is underrated. He has just as much talent as Carrie or Kelly. Him being compared to Adam is getting old. Adam does however have a nice voice. Kris is by far the best Idol winner, and Idol contestant.
As much as I also think Cook,Underwood,Clarkson, and Sparks are awsome, for me they just don't compare to Kris Allen's artistry. He is by far the BEST American Idol winner, and it'll be quite difficult in my opinon for '10 idol to surpass him in greatness. Buy his CD :)

Well, obviously the hype of American Idol isn't enough to rocket you to #1 on the charts anymore. There needs to be more marketing. Kris Allen's first album is stellar. It needed more marketing than just "here's the latest American Idol". Once people latch on, this one should do well. It'll be a slow climb. Adam Lambert's team did a great job of marketing him, but I found his album uninteresting. As for the rest, Carrie Underwood is miles away from the pack. Kelly's been up and down for me, and she has a lot of vanilla cuts on her album. Taylor who?
