'American Idol': See the judges together (sort of)

FOX has released the first photo of all four "American Idol" judges and host Ryan Seacrest together this season.

Or rather, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi and Seacrest are all in the same picture. It's pretty clearly a composite photo. Have a look:



Not that there's anything wrong with Photoshop when needed -- and after all, DeGeneres, who got the job in September, won't be joining the rest of the crew till the Hollywood round tapes this month. But we were tipped off on the group shot by the fact that the poses Cowell and Seacrest are striking look suspiciously similar to the ones in their individual pictures:



Our resident Photoshop consultant, Eric Almendral, also points out that in the group shot, the light is hitting DeGeneres from a different direction than those around her, making her look washed out. She's also a little out of focus. Shadows are inconsistent throughout.

Just so we have a complete set, here are shots of DeGeneres, Jackson and DioGuardi from the season 9 photo shoot.

   

You'll get to see the judges in motion when "American Idol" premieres Tuesday, Jan.12. DeGeneres will make her first appearance in February.
