'American Idol' messes with 'FlashForward's' return, Suspect Zero to be revealed

flashforward-cast-320.jpgDuring a set visit on Friday (Jan. 8), "FlashForward" executive producers David S. Goyer and Jessika Borsiczky fielded questions from the press about ABC's complicated freshman drama.

Turns out that instead of Thursday, March 4, "FlashForward" will return to ABC's schedule on March 18 instead. You can thank that pesky "American Idol" over on FOX for the delay.

To make up for the two-week postponement, the show will have a two-hour midseason premiere and a two-hour finale as well. As to how this will affect the very important date of "April 29" to the show's story arc, Goyer says, "We don't know. That may be one of the casualties of 'American Idol.'"

However, fans can look forward to a fun recap show that will air a few weeks before the premiere and that will include new material to reward loyal viewers, especially a "bomb" that will be end the recap special.

When it comes back on the 18th, it will return in a big way with an answer to the question "Who is Suspect Zero?"

As for "FlashForward's" chances for a second season, the producers say that they just pitched their ideas for Season Two to ABC and that the meeting went "well."

Oh, and, yes, the kangaroo will be back.

This show lost me after the first few episodes. It moves too slowly. They need to punch it up.

after all this time i'll need a flashback to know what im flashinf forward to

I am really disappointed that flashforward is not returning until the end of March. Bring it back on March 4th, forget about american idol...ugh.....

Yet another reason to consign American Idol to the trashbin of history.

eh this topic blows, find me a girl like this http://www.crassanova.com/2009/09/how-to-keep-a-pimp-interested/

ABC, you should realize that the type of people who really enjoy Flashforward couldn't give a hoot about watching American Idol to see a bunch of robots vying for cash.

@Tim: you are very right (sadly really). FlashForward turned out to be a big disappointment to ABC (although they'll never acknowledge it as long as it's on the air).

They're keeping it away from a much weakened American Idol because its ratings are extremely weak and ABC is trying to punch up the averages to spin that the show is really a hit.

It may also be good business as ABC doesn't have much of a bench and really has nothing in store that could replace it (which is quite a sad state of affairs).

Well I think ABC is doing all it can to keep people interested in the show - a recap show, a 2 hour premiere and 2 hour season (hopefully and not series) finale plus (and this isn't mentioned) the DVD for the 1st half of the season will be out on February 23rd.

P.S.: RJ - the show will be back March 18th. That's the MIDDLE of March - not the end.

I think flashforward is one of the best series that ABC has had,i hope it will be coming back for a second season

I think its a good show much better then American Idol or any other reality show. I'm so sick of those reality shows.
