'American Idol': Kris Allen sings National Anthem at NFC championship
The Vikings and Saints were treated to a soulful rendition of the National Anthem before their playoff game, courtesy of "American Idol" winner Kris Allen.Kris is originally from Conway, Arkansas, which isn't too far from Louisiana. The Saints make a natural NFL team for him to root for and sports love to ask fans of teams to sing the National Anthem when they can.
We really enjoyed Kris's rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner. And his appearance certainly makes worlds more sense than Adam Lambert being at the Screen Actors Guild awards Saturday night (Jan. 23).

You have gotta be kidding. His rendition was AWFUL. His pitch was awful, his melody embellishments were awful. Watching that performance, one would never even guess he was a "professional," rather than some local boy with sentimental, underdog appeal.
Wow...that was really great. He did a fantastic job.
I must have been listening to something different, because Kris Allen was DREADFUL and he should be embarrassed by that performance. He was off key, couldn't hit the high notes and his word pronunciation was terrible.
There was nothing good about this performance.
Wow. Glambert much? He didn't fuss with the melody much at all; made a point of saying earlier that the point was for people to sing along. His pitch was good. The only flaw I heard was that he strained a bit on the high notes, but the anthem's got a brutal range, so I'm not surprised.
Hmm... I really liked it. There was some strain, but it was *not* off-key, and the interpretation was strong.
c'mon guys, it wasn't that bad. (i mean it was pretty good!) and yes, i'm an Adam Lambert fan.
kris, you sang just fine!!!!!!!!
Kris was amazing.
What's with the gay obsessed trolls postings?
Um...Adam was invited to the SAG awards...should he have said NO? Geez..free exposure and promotion for him and he looked incredible...hay zaphate, have you considered that Hollywood likes Adam? Maybe that's why he was invited. Good for Adam and he should enjoy it, just like he said on Oprah...who knows how long this fame will last, have a blast and enjoy it all...heck I would not say no to attending the SAG awards if asked...I can bet Adam will be in a film or TV eventually, the writing is on the wall...and Adam knows that money in entertainment comes from more than just music...he is branding himself and apparently shot sunglass ads for Flaunt magazine (money and more money)..sell it Adam (yourself)...Kris did ok, but he was better during the NBA finals (Jordin Sparks made him look kinda bad though)...Adam should sing it at the Super Bowl...
Oh my-not good. He improved towards the end, but next time pick from so many other singers that are more than capable. The song should inspire not having you praying for it to end quickly.
