'American Idol' Fantasia Barrino opens up tonight on VH1

fantasia-for-real-Vh1-320.jpgWinning "American Idol" can get pretty complicated after the confetti has dropped. Season three winner Fantasia Barrino knows that firsthand.

Since her win, Barrino has been barraged with bad press surrounding her finances, her illiteracy, family rifts and whether she'll fulfill the promise of her A.I. win.

Tonight, "Fantasia For Real" premieres on VH1 and the diva wants the reality series to clear up some rumors.

"I've always been an open book ever since I was on 'Idol,'" she tells MTV. "But I kind of wanted everyone to hear it from the horse's mouth, how things kind of went down, what the truth is, and kind of watch me as I rebuild my dynasty and kind of grow up from some of the things that were hindering me."

One of the rumors she hopes to clear up: Did Simon Cowell save her home from foreclosure?

The house that I'm in now is just one of my dream homes," the diva says. "So up until the very last day, we began to pack things up, and I paid out of my pocket. No, Simon Cowell did not help me with anything!"

In the show, Fantasia addresses her 2005 admission that she's functionally illiterate. She lets the cameras follow her as she studies to get her GED and says that she wants viewers to learn something from watching her. Viewers will also get a behind the scenes look at Fantasia recording an upcoming album.

I think the show is ok but their is no way my grow *** brother would be living off of me.

i really enjoy the show just wasn't enough time should have been 1 hour long. She's sending out a message to to her fans of how mistake are made even with a lot of money and u still not happy.

I love her voice, but her intelligence and common sense are in question. She needs a financial adviser and after she receives her GED, she needs to go on to college like Keisha Knight Pullman, the Olson Twins, and even Sean Combs to name a few and learn how to make better educated decisions. Now to get to a level she understands "Stop taking care of all those grown up lazy no good for nothing people in your house!!!" Worry about God first and then your child. Until then, your album will only drop off a purchase list. Pay attention to Keisha Cole, she has the right idea, because she still loves her family, but she has enough since to know the child God allows her to carry comes first.

oops misspelled sense.See that's what college does for you.

I really love the show it good may GOD be you

DEAR BABY GIRL I KNOW WHAT YOU GOING THOUHT I SEE MYSELF DOING THE SAME THING ALL THE TIME AND IF YOU LET FAIMLY IN YOU CANT NEVER GET THEM OUT. SO WHEN YOU DO GET THEM OUT MAKE SURE YOU NEVER LET THEM BACK IN .AND I KNOW IT'S HARD READING AND THAT SOMETHING YOU HAVE TO WORK ON BECAUSE NOT ONLY YOU NEED BUT YOUR PRETTY LIL GIRL NEED IT TO. SO SING ALL THE SONGS YOU WANT BECAUSE YOU ARE REALLY AT IT. GO BACK TO SCHOOL SO IF FOR ANY REASON YOU WILL HAVE THAT PAPER TO THE NEXT STEP IN LIFE...I LOVE YOU AND IM KEEPING YOU IN MY PRAYER

I loved you since the first time I saw you on idol. Keep up the goog work.

First of all I think that you are a decent singer not great. As for the honor you let it get out of hand. Instead of rebuilding a dynasty - how about trying to just rebuild a normal life. That was the problem already the dynasty thought. I don't feel sorry for people that get rich and can't handle the money. That shouldn't have become an issue especially you having a small child. Now pick yourself back up.

Hey, Fantasia! First of all, I love the reality show because you are in it. Second of all, I think you should sell that big house and get something smaller for you and your daughter. If you want to still look out for mom, that's ok. Get rid of all the other baggage and weight. I can't wait for your 3rd cd to come out. I will definitely be at the stores to buy it.

DEAR FANTASIA,

THINGSS ONLY WENT WRONG BECAUSE YOU LOOKED AT THE WORLD THROUGH YOUR OWN UNDERSTANDING!
