'American Idol': Ellen DeGeneres' first day as a judge

Find out how Ellen DeGeneres feels her first day judging "American Idol" went. It sounds like Ellen is really enjoying "Idol" so far -- except it's keeping her from the show itself! "I couldn't watch 'American Idol' last night because I was busy working on 'American Idol' last night."
She continues, "It's exciting, I have to tell you because last year I watched 'American Idol' in my pajamas sitting on my couch. And this year, it's totally different because I actually get to be right there and although we have these late, late nights and if they keep going like this, I'm going to have to put my pajamas on."
We are very excited to see Ellen as an "American Idol" judge. This year could really shake things up for the franchise and allay some fears going forward.

DeGeneres is a charmer and a total riot but that has NOTHING to do with American Idol judging. She has ZERO industry experience and is a total anomaly for that panel.
With Simon leaving the gas is running out of the tank on AI and Ellen isn't enough and is just the wrong direction to take the show.
If she were chosen to replace Ryan as host THEN I could see it but she's wrong for the judging panel and I'm actually surprised/disappointed she doestn't see it as well.
Wait for the inevitable backlash.
Um exactly what was Paula's talent? Making incoherent sentences? Or lip-syncing to some over digitalized song? Or wait maybe the time she critiqued the second song before it was even performed? Ellen is funny, talented and very beautiful in her own way! I for one can’t wait to see her on the show!
Im still trying to figure out what paula said from the first season lol. Seriously give it a chance before you ban ellen. With Simon and Kara being the *mean* judges. AI needs somebody to balance it all out. And i think Ellen will do fine.

GO ELLEN! I did like Paula, but I really think Ellen is the perfect choice to take over for her. After all, Paula wanted to leave! Ellen will add something different and much needed to the panel -- and talk about a contrast to Simon! I can't wait.
Ellen has a cute way of making little witty comments that don't hurt people's feelings, but rather are just truly funny!
