'American Idol': Avril Lavigne -- how'd she do?
"American Idol" brought out two judges on Tuesday (Jan. 26) that weren't pulling any punches. How did Canadian pop princess Avril Lavigne do?We found Avril Lavigne to be a bit, well, bolder than we thought she would be. Her questioning of Jim Ranger's ability to commit his time was maybe a bit sassy and premature. Sending him to Hollywood Week isn't really the time you stop to think about whether he can be a dad and go to church and still be on "Idol." Plus, it's not like we haven't seen busy Idols before. We found that to be really weird.
How do you think Avril stacked up against the other guest judges? For us, she may have been one of the worst. Granted, having two judges split an hour-long show means they got even shorter shrift than Chenoweth and Twain and MUCH less screentime than Mary J. or Lady V. But we want to hear what you think. Vote now!

She didnt like him because he likes god...it was pretty obvious...she was glowing was the one goth girl came in before she even sang...
She didn't have enough air time for me to decide whether she did well or not. Katy Perry was too bitchy though, I mean, she's only had one hit album, how do I know she'll have another quality album? Not credible enough to be a judge, in my opinion.
I thought Avril showed her age on the show. She wasn't professional at all in going about it, laughing uncontrollably in the face of many contestants. She was rude and not a very good choice for a guest judge, in my opinion.
Avril's reactions seemed honest if a bit blunt and certainly not immature. Don't let the lil' devil hoodie fool you. She knows what it takes to make it in the music industry.
I thought she sounded like a mentally challenged cat, but maybe that was because of her hoodie.
She didn't like him because he didn't like God? It's a shame that people like you are able to type or communicate in any manner.
She came off like a nasty, downmarket piece of work.
Her voting "no" on the minister-by-night seemed particularly suspect: she either disapproved of his religion or, as she said, thought having a family and a church would be a big conflict (which has NOTHING to do with his voice).
Childish skank-a-rama, she is.
I'm from Montreal (2 hours form her hometown) and we are surrounded by teeny-bops like her. She don't know jack-.... and thinks she's all that. She's nothing but a little spoiled rich brat...and should never be asked her opinion on things, because she is still way too immature to be able to put someone elses life in her hands....
It was pretty clear she didn't want him going through because he was a Christian. She didn't question if a single mother could handle the show and take care of her child. It was clear as day. Sorry, that's the truth.
Lavigne really sucked. No class and so - so talent. She's not qualified to be a judge of anything.
