'American Idol': Andrew Fenlon annoys Kara DioGuardi in Boston
Ladies and gentlemen, we have our first memorable "American Idol" contestant of 2010 (rejected division).Meet Andrew Fenlon, who showed up to the Boston auditions and apparently expected to be whisked to the front of the line. That didn't happen, so when he finally did meet the judges, he was a little peeved. "I'm gonna sing 'House of the Rising Sun' -- do you know that song?" Um, yeah. I'm guessing they do.
The song itself? Eh. He didn't do badly, but he didn't really deserve a ticket to Hollywood either -- which is exactly what happened. The money in this clip, though, is in Kara DioGuardi's reaction: She's peeved too, and it's excellent TV. This was the Kara we got at the beginning of last season, who faded away when the live shows started. Here's hoping we see more of that from her this season.

I cannot STAND Kara! I think she is rude & argumentative. Like her her "sing-off" with Bikini Girl last season, her behavior with this contestant was inappropriate. I don't know if she's trying to be the female Simon, but it AIN"T working!
Andrew was awesome! Kara is a loser. Even Simon liked him. But that's cuz he knew Andrew would be great TV. Kara has no clue.
Can we vote Kara off the show? She's so full of herself. None of the contestants have any personalities that have been put through to Hollywood, all forgettable. And most of the people who went to Hollywood were average-at best. Remember how poorly album sales have been for the contestants last year, guess Idol never learns.
Andrew majored @ new england conservatory with trumbone and guitar along with others. He has a web site. carbonpictures.com he has a band the andrew fenlon experiment. he played them so hard.
Kara she was full of herself,Andrew did not do anything wrong, she on the other hand act like a ***** on the wheel. Her behavior was not professional, inappropriate, no wonder Simon is leaving.
Loved hot Clark Kent aka Andrew Fenlon. Yes, he was crusty and rude to start off, but he got it under control and had some excellent, non-rude responses when Kara utterly LOST IT. Wow. That was excellent TV, and had they sent him through (he had an interesting presentation and a good voice), more excellent TV could have been had. Sad, really.
These auditions are a joke to begin with. Andrew was good and I would too be angry and upset if I had to wait all day to see these judges. Kara is a *****! A ****! I hope Andrew gets noticed and gets a gig somewhere. You go Andrew!
Someone needs to tell the Spice Girl to eat some food once in awhile David must feel like he is ******* a skeleton...
Yeah, I guess I didn't see "THE MOST ARROGANT CONTESTANT EVER!!!" during Andrew's audition either. Once again, the actual show didn't live up to the hype of the Fox promos. I thought Andrew had a pretty good voice, but was not memorable enough. Was he a bit rude? Yes, but he didn't seem "crazy", deranged, threatening or aggressive. I think the producers just didn't have enough "interesting" characters in Boston, so they decided to exaggerate the argument between Kara and Andrew. He didn't seem like he was angry, just impatient, since he had been waiting there for probably 12 hours! :-0
I'd be grumpy if I'd been sitting waiting all day. He was tired. I don't think he was saying that he shouldn't have been made to wait a few hours, I think he was just saying that it's tiring to wait that long. And it is. They should have some sympathy for the people who have been sitting in a conference room for hours surrounded by a bunch of weirdos and end up going towards the end of the queue. Also, it seems like they totally edited the final piece on TV because he kept apologizing like he didn't know he'd said something rude. I bet they just pieced together a few little things he said and misinterpreted them. I think Andrew's too unique for American Idol anyway. Hopefully the press he's gotten over this has turned people on to his actual music career.
