ABC Family greenlights 'Huge,' 'Pretty Little Liars'

Well, maybe this doesn't perfectly describe ABC Family's two latest series pick-ups, but it's pretty close.

The network announced Wednesday (Jan. 27) that "Huge" and "Pretty Little Liars" -- both one-hour dramas -- have been given a 10-episode order and are scheduled to premiere later this year.

"Pretty Little Liars" follows four estranged best friends who are reunited a year after the leader of their clique goes missing, only to realize that they're all receiving anonymous messages from someone who knows all their secrets.

Lucy Kate Hale -- best known for her role on The CW's "Privileged" -- will star alongside three relative newcomers as well as "Melrose Place"'s Laura Leighton and Nia Peeples.

"Huge" follows the lives of the teens and staff at a weight loss camp. It is based on the book of the same name by author Sasha Paley. The series is being developed by Winnie Holzman ("My So-Called Life," "Once & Again") and her daughter Savannah Dooley.

Haven't watched anything on ABC Family since KYLE XY's last episode. Honestly have no intention of watching anything in the future, given the fact that they left KYLE XY hanging on such a cliffhanger.

I have no loyalty to networks that have to loyalty to the fans of their programs.

I love the Pretty Little Liars series.. but i have some doubts about ABC family doing this series as a show...
I will be having high expectations...

i agree with you tiffany! i am interested to see what the do with this as a TV series. I'll watch it but if it changes the book's plot too much, i'll probably stop watching

i'm not sure if theyre actually going to make this a tv show. on youtube once it said they were going to make it a tv show, but it never happened. i'm counting on you, ABC tv!
