The world is upside down. Dogs and cats are living together. CBS did not win Friday night. It didn't even come in second. Instead, "Law & Order" and the ongoing train wreck that is Tiger Woods' life on "Dateline NBC" took center stage, winning the night for the network with an interview with alleged mistress Jamie Jungers. In addition, ABC's fresh lineup took in more viewers than CBS' night of holiday programming and repeats.

NBC led the way Friday, averaging 7.96 million viewers and a 5.2 rating/9 share in households. ABC had a solid second place with 5.6 million and a 3.8/7, followed by CBS (4.8 million, 3.1/5), FOX (2.4 million, 1.5/3) and The CW (1.4 million, 0.9/2).

The race for the 18-49 adult demo played out the same way, with NBC in front with 1.7, ABC's 1.5 securing second, followed by CBS' 1.2, FOX's 0.9 and The CW's 0.5.

How do rank the lineups? By viewers? Then Medium should be over ugly betty and i know we are SOOOO used to CW being in the bottom, but if Smallville's 2nd rerun was 2.2 over Dollhouse's 2.1 at the 9pm hour, they should have been switched too. Anyways, at least they are burning off Dollhouse episodes during what would be rerun time in TV land.

yeaaaaaah Ugly Betty's is UP! :d
lets hope the next one will reach 7mill! or is that too hopeful?

Based on these numbers, there should leave little doubt to all you naysayers that Glee will not see another season. Fox should have known better than to put this horrible show up against better fare like Modern Family.

Hanh, "Law & Order" and NBC have won about 5 or 6 times this fall on Fridays.

Ugly Betty has regained its creative engine; loving this season! Veryh glad to hear it's moving to Wednesday nights after Modern Family & Cougar Town. Two hours of funny writing and fun shows.

Really? An average of 4.7 million viewers from 8 to 10 pm is momentum for ABC? Not that long ago those numbers would mean instant cancelations as well as more than a few desks being emptied out on Monday?

Not meaning to be cruel, well too cruel, but it's hard to say what went on last night when Ms Nguyen seems unable to make an accurate post about ratings ... is it me or have almost all her ratings posts the last while been a dogs breakfeast?

no Fake Me Out, it's not just you about Hanh (she can't seem to get thru a ratings post without errors galore). I once saw it suggested that she try another line of work, and i'm rather inclined to agree. Anyone listening, Zap2it? (& sorry Hanh, but you should do better.)

Maybe Smallville should be on at 9 if the second rerun did that much better.

Christmas movies are a time-honored tradition that teach you important lessons about the value of family, illustrate the necessity of charity, and warm your heart with the goodness of your fellow man. And Die Hard is the best one ever made. Hey, listen: It still counts as "heart-warming" if it rips your heart out of your chest and lights it on fire.

You can't have average for CW Friday night at 1,4 (1,36) million viewers with 1,5 at 8 p.m. and 2,2 (1,2) million viewers at 9 p.m.
