CSI was awful last night, poor story, lazy writing.
Not to gloat, but The Mentalist again won the night as someone had predicted. ;)
If you want more proof that ABC was right to put all (fake) caution (of not trying new shows) to the wind, look no further than the abysmal re-run numbers for its Thursday lineup.
ABC did the right thing is trying a lot of new shows. It needs to do it again, but this time pick things that the audience will watch as opposed to what will get critics' eyelids batting aflutter. ;)
@Lara: As much as I consider the first five seasons of CSI to be one of the greatest achievements of the form, I have found the new episodes to be entirely uninteresting, but many people have a lot more patience than I do for declining shows. :)
I did not like CSI last night. I actually found myself flipping over to the Grey's rerun. Mentalist, however, is fantastic.
What the … seems anyone who doesn't like Mentalist as much as others feels need to slam fans. So a loser is someone who likes something U don't???
That's real evolved. Ment. about a lot more than mental detective. funny lines,antics,inventive!
@david
as someone said earlier in the week, it's best to totally ignore, not feed, the trolls.
Not to gloat, but The Mentalist again won the night as someone with smelly breath had predicted. ;)
The Mentalist is brilliant TV. The way it recycles old "Murder She Wrote" and "Barnaby Jones" plots is just insanely brilliant. I like how it's TV for the lowest common denominator of folks who include yours truly!!
@ClefsNotes: I agree that ignoring trolls is often the best way to go, since it is (alas) illegal to find out where they live and shoot them in the heads. However, some people (including, at times, me) just get so sick and tired of the b*u*l*l*s*h*i*t that we can't stand it anymore. It's great in theory, ignoring trolls, but very difficult to implement in reality. Kind of like trying to ignore a rabid poodle gnawing on your kneecap, really.
'The Mentalist' is a great show. It's very entertaining and doesn't need to have a huge even to pull people over to watch it. I like this show and I am not considered a "loser" by the people who matter in my life! ABC has good shows as does CBS and NBC...ok well the first two do. These networks are trying different shows and viewers chose what they want to watch! CSI was an inventive show 10 years ago, now its a show with still great ratings 10 years after the fact! Grey's Anatomy with its declining ratings is only in it 5th season! I find it to be a decent show, but all shows have their time and 'Murder, She Wrote' was a hit for 11 years of it's run! So The Mentalist has a great life ahead of it lol!
@AaronR; Good to see you around. :)
I agree it is difficult not to feed the trolls, and as we discussed before I think it's sad that zap2it doesn't have the resources to do more to clean up this board (although they've apparently retreated from their do-nothing stance which is welcome news).
