LOL Law and Order SVU got better ratings then what Heroes and trauma usually get. Two and a Half Men, Big Bang Theory and CSI Miami continue to stay on top. Castle dropped big time in viewer wise. How I met your mother did good with House's absence. Lenos ugly *** continues to fail. Looks like CBS continues to dominate every week.
Amazing how pathetic ABC's ratings are with no DWTS crap. Good for CBS to show new shows. Not a bit Underwood fan, but half decent ratings for Fox. Missed House last night, still the best show on tv hands down! Great CSI Miami episode last night, great camera work, WHO song and shots of Miami!
How I Met Your Mother is back on stride and great. Also, Big Bang Theory gets better and better as well, great ep last nite. What is this Heroes show you speak about???hahahahaha
I never expected it would happen so soon that Jim Parsons would draw a bigger audience than David Caruso. Fluke or changing of the Monday guard?
Why do people continue to watch David Caruso's bad acting. I mean, it's awful.
Watch Castle instead! Stana Katic can't act either but at least she's nice to look at (especially now that she doesn't have that mullet anymore).
Glad to see Carrie Underwood's special had solid ratings for FOX.Can't wait for 24 on Monday nights!
to JW:
BBT has beaten CSI Miami in viewers before, but its been back and forth.
@N1CK305: Good observation on an SVU re-run beating Heroes.
Once again, one cannot help to wonder why on earth NBC brought back Heroes and its bad ratings.
Castle dropped (as predicted) and is clearly not a hit, but given how poorly ABC's new shows have performed, they are overloaded with shows that, while they don't stink up the schedule, also do nothing to grow their overall audience and Castle is one of them. My guess is that if it doesn't lose more audience in coming weeks ABC will bring it back for another lackluster season because it's already invested a lot of money in it and ABC's daring (in this day and age) new lineup failed to find a single bona fide hit.
@Alan59: speaking of season to season comps, the numbers I've been getting make little sense to me.
FOX is reported as having explosive growth, yet they don't have any show that's grown or any new show that's a hit.
Any ideas what might be skewing the numbers that way?
CW anounced it was going to try and play with averages by comparing last year with its dreadful Sunday with this year without it and claim it did a great move by shrinking the network, but I don't know why Nielsen is seeing double-digit growth for FOX, even accounting for possibly more football over-runs on Sundays.
Another holiday Monday night mish-mash of old holiday specials, new holiday specials, repeats and new episodes. CBS ran an all-new lineup and dominated, with “The Big Bang Theory†the night’s top show with adults 18-49 with its highest 18-49 ratings ever – at least in the preliminaries. “Two and a Half Men†trailed BBT by .6 in the demo, but it was still it’s best 18-49 performance of the season.
I can hear the cries of “the weakest link!†with regard to “Accidentally On Purpose†at 8:30 though. It dropped off a bit from a strong 8pm performance from “How I Met Your Mother.â€
“Find My Family†is no longer looking like such a good lead-in for “Castle.†“Castle†was down 15% with adults 18-49 from its last new airing on 11/23, and will likely drop off another 10th or so in the finals due to “Monday Night Football†on the ABC affiliates in Green Bay and Milwaukee.
Against new competition and “Men With a Certain Age†on TNT (there are no early overnight numbers for cable shows, so we won’t see those numbers until this afternoon, sorry) “The Jay Leno†show had its biggest Monday audience since October 19 and was up .1 with adults 18-49 against new episodes on ABC and CBS.
@david: The "great camera work" ceased to exist on CSI Miami this year. The show looks like a soap opera this season thanks to shooting it on video.
