TV ratings: CBS holds off 'Biggest Loser' finale Tuesday
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009The finale of "The Biggest Loser" scored strong numbers for NBC Tuesday and lifted "The Jay Leno Show" to its biggest audience in months. That still wasn't quite enough, however, to move NBC past CBS in the overall ratings.

NBC led the adults 18-49 demographic by a wide margin, scoring a 4.3 rating. ABC, CBS and FOX finished in a three-way tie for second at 2.4. The CW managed only a 0.8.

The only time Leno gets decent numbers is when following a TV special.
Amazing an NCIS rerun still beats Biggest Loser and is the night's #1 show
ABC comedies were a dud. Maybe they'll finally understand, we don't like Ted
Why does the CW even still exist??
we love ted. television is better off with ted. im afraid for better of ted tho. 3.8 million, 2.5/4 will not be enought to last another season. @#$%^$@^#^$!&^$#%@!*&$%@^$#^@$%^@&$#&*#$ :(
agree. Better off TEd is a great show! applaud to the writers and staff for giving us this show. i dont trust NIELSENS rating system. i believe its inaccurate. its sad that tv networks base their picks on this system.
I just don’t get it. People would rather watch a bunch of fat people losing weight, people dancing, a repeat of a crime show and some comedy that should’ve ended a couple of seasons ago over Melrose Place which was amazaing last night?? Truly unfathomable…
Amazing!!!!!!!!! A rerun has more audience than first run of many "popular" shows
Im going to go ahead and stop dvring scrubs because its not going to last much longer this season.
ABC took a massive nose dive, guess people are getting tired of boaring dance shows. Looks like a Death Watch for The Forgotten, Scrubs, Melrose Place, and the season premier of Better Off Ted would be Better Off Dead.
LOL NCIS rerun won the night and even beat the Fattest Loser's season finale. It just shows you how many people love NCIS. I wish V was on last night so I can here MEOH say that its the people's choice show at eight o'clock, even though it gets destroyed by NCIS every week. CBS continues to dominate every week. Scrubs and Ted's ratings are terrible. Looks like people are finally realizing that their both trash. I feel bad for MEOH, shes always saying that ABC shows are the shows to beat but every week they continue to get blown out by CBS.
Once again America proves a lack of taste by not watching Better Off Ted - easily as funny as 30 Rock, Arrested Development, or Modern Family.
So sad.
Biggest Loser is the only reality show that I watch because due to their success all the participants are winners due to their coming back from a serious health problem. As for the real LOSERS? Guess again.
Seriously, Jay Leno actually pulled good numbers for his type of show, only because there were two reruns opposite and he was following a reality finale with the winner as a guest. NBC needs to pare down the experiment. Not a total failure, but far, far from what a network needs once you add in the lower numbers of the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien.
ABC should be disappointed with the significant drop in numbers with Ted. Be interesting to see next weeks.
CBS-what can you say, all reruns, but still either #1 or #2. Even though one can say NCIS skews older, they are like L & O and CSI in that they are dramas that rerun very well unlike ER, 24, and Lost.
Fox-Running out the SYTYCD string. At least the show was cheap.
CW-Their numbers are so anemic, how can they make money on this night?
