'The View's' Sherri Shepherd tells Adam Lambert defenders to get off her Twitter
Though ABC canceled several scheduled Adam Lambert appearances after his controversial American Music Awards performance, the "American Idol" runner-up is not banned from the network.
Lambert will appear on "The View" this Thursday (Dec. 10), the morning after he's profiled on Barbara Walters' "10 Most Fascinating People of 2009" special.
His appearance will be taped because, as Walters explains in the clip below, people seem to be afraid of what he might do when he performs.
However, many of the singer's fans seem to be afraid of what "The View" co-hosts might do when Adam sits down with them ... specifically the more conservative panelists.
According to Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Sherri Shepherd, their Twitter accounts have been inundated with messages from Lambert supporters after his upcoming "View" appearance was announced.
Apparently "Don't be mean to Adam!" was the common theme. But Shepherd says she was unfairly accused of being homophobic, presumably because she had expressed disapproval of his sexually charged act at the AMAs.
"[My opinion of what he did on stage] had nothin' to do with [Adam being gay]," Shepherd insisted on Monday's episode of "The View." "I would have a problem if I saw Madonna grinding some head in her crotch. Janet [Jackson], I mean when her boob fell open, I had just come from church with my nephews! I was [outraged]. So it had nothing to do with [Adam being gay]. I didn't like it and everybody just bombarded my Twitter. Get off of me!"

Sherri, did you have any problems watching Dancing with the Stars? You might want to take another look. Don't worry...it's on Utube all over the web. Clearly shows male dancer holding female dancer's head almost on the floor and thrusting her head up again and again into his crotch area. Very explicit reenactment of oral sex. Much more graphic than anything Adam did. That was on Prime Time. Double standard big time. You are homophobic if man on man offended you and DWTS didn't. Either take it all off the air or STFU.
The best example of double standard is that apparently there have been no comments about Janet Jackson grabbing a male dancer crotch at 8:00 pm during the opening of the AMA!

Sherri and ABC need to lighten up. All everyone talks about are the sexual innuendo's of Adams performance but no one seems to recognize the true artistry of this man's genius in his vocal talents.

If we had Whoopie's and Barbara's twitter we'd be gang on them too. We are just sending a message to be fair. Look past just one performance the man has a lifetime of work and all you 4 are basing his life on is one AMA routine that was choreographed for him. Get real. Get the facts. The blonde bimbo thinks Adam actually stuck his hand up some woman's crotch. And that was part of the choreography!
