'The View': Elisabeth Hasselbeck apologizes to Stanley Tucci for awkward question
Elisabeth Hasselbeck made quite the gaffe on Thursday's episode of "The View." She has since apologized to Stanley Tucci. Video below. When interviewing Stanley Tucci about his new movie "The Lovely Bones," Tucci revealed that his wife Kate was against his taking the villain role because she had read the book.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck then asked Tucci if his wife had seen the movie yet. Except Tucci's wife succumbed to a battle with cancer last May.
Whoops.
Elisabeth then took to Twitter to express how bad she feels and that she apologized to Stanley personally. "it was an honest mistake with stanley tucci today & i called him to apologize. he forgave me (such grace)- if only i could forgive myself..."
You know, we aren't sure what the big deal is. It really seems like Hasselbeck did just make an honest mistake or maybe she meant that his wife could have seen parts of it before she passed away, since it was filmed before Tucci even filmed "Julie & Julia."
A really awkward moment, to be sure. But not the end of the world.

Even though i cant stand her it was just an honest mistake.
she should go on the next season of survivor, heroes vs villains...
as a villain of course.
Unprofessional on her part. She considers herself a "journalist," she needs to make sure she has the facts. Poor guy.
There's even some question as to whether Tucci and his wife were even together at that point. He had left her for Edie Falco and when they broke up it was never quite confirmed that he had reunited with his wife. In this day of muliple marriages, hookups, etc., I'm even reluctant to ask about a friend's significant other if I haven't seen them in a while. :-)
Human beings aren't perfect so mistakes happen and most people understand this.
But for a person like Hasselbeck, who must feel like EVERYBODY is watching her and actually cares about her life, opinions and choices -- to fail or make a mistake (no matter how minor) is a sign of weakness or imperfection.
Or three kids must be driving her up a wall. Take a vacation and chill!
She certainly could have been better prepared regarding her guest (Tucci). But, obviously just a mistake.
Hasselbeck is an idiot and this just further proves it to the world. Any time she opens her mouth she removes all doubt. This is a fitting display of her lack of brain cells. One can only hope it results in a quick and permanent firing. That would be justice for all.
Hasselb*tch is the WORST.
This is not the first time nor will it be the last time that she makes a complete fool of herself. She thinks that she knows everything but she is such an idiot...she does not deserve to be on the View..She is not that smart!!!! I am so glad that I have 'mute' on my TV which I use everytime she speaks.
GET RID OF HER!!!
Not an Elisabeth fan, but c'mon...a mistake which she has acknowledged, apologized for publically and privately, and obviously is mortified about. I can't condemn her for the same types of mistakes that I have made in life.
