'The Shield' stars to visit 'Lie to Me'

theshield_snell_dent_290.jpgDr. Cal Lightman may have made a serious error, and the cast of "The Shield" are involved.

"The Shield's" Catherine Dent, Kenny Johnson, David Marciano, Benito Martinez, Cathy Cahlin Ryan and David Rees Snell will descend upon "Lie to Me" as guest stars for an upcoming episode.

This en masse casting coup is courtesy of "Lie to Me" executive producer Shawn Ryan, who snagged an Emmy for writing on "The Shield."

In the episode, Dr. Lightman (Tim Roth) witnesses the execution of convicted child murderer Jason Wilkie (Marciano), who he helped convict. But maybe Lightman made a mistake. The victim's aunt and uncle (Dent, Martinez) are targeted once again, and so Lightman questions Wilkie's younger brother (Snell) and ex (Ryan), which leads him to key suspect Malcolm Hessler (Johnson), a photographer.

The episode, title "Pied Piper," will air sometime next spring.

The back nine episodes of "Lie to Me" was recently picked up, making it a full season. There's no word yet on when the show will return in midseason.

In other FOX news, "Glee" co-creator, writer and director Brad Falchuk has signed a two-year, seven-figure deal with 20th Century Fox TV, in which he'll stay on "Glee," but will be expected to develop and direct other projects, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Superbly written with a story arc that spans the entire run of the series.
Acting, adrenaline, and all that other good stuff that makes you spend (or should i say INVEST) time in watching the crooked path Vic Mackey walks on. You'll always want to see what happens next....even till the end. Even if you've never heard of the show, or have never watched an episode, the price is too good to pass up on the entire series. YOU cannot watch television the same way and in this day and age where pure narrative/fictional shows are getting drowned out by reality garbage, THE SHIELD set a new standard. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOW. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. The Shield has the best elements of every other show: 24, The Sopranos, Law and Order, and much more.
