'Survivor: Samoa's' Russell Hantz: 'Brett would've gotten my vote'

When Zap2it caught up with Russell Hantz, the "Survivor: Samoa" fan favorite at the finale, he told us that he was really upset he didn't win and that he thinks his only other vote besides Shambo came from John. Video below.

We saw Shambo voted for Russell but we didn't see the other vote cast for him. Russell is certain it was John because he's got a "smart mind" and can appreciate Russell's game play.

When we observed that we loved watching Russell but that if we'd been in the game we'd have wanted to vote him out, Russell responded that we only think we would've wanted to get him out, but that his social game was good enough that everybody kept him around.

Finally, Russell says that if Brett had been in the Final Three and Russell had been on the jury, Brett would've gotten Russell's vote because "the rest of 'em did absolutely nothing."

The Best Player in the History of Survivor !!!!!

Russell rules. Natalie won the anti-Russell vote. She did nothing to get to the finals except allow Russell to offer her her only alliance, not one that she persued, and watch Russell carry her through the game. Russell won or found the key immunities and made the big plays. She just hoped to God that someone, namely Russell, knew what they were doing because she clearly didn't.

Survivor Samoa produced the following:
1) The most skilled player ever.
2) The least deserving winner ever.
3) The most pathetic jury ever.
4) The most controversial decision ever.

The rules should be flipped. Jury favorite gets $100K.
America favorite gets $1M.

Jury nulifacation just like the OJ trial

I agree the rewards should be flipped... Jeff Probst was SO WRONG SHE Didnt BEAT his butt... She was HANDED the title becuz they hated and were to BITTER to admit that he Outplayed, Outwit, them ALL

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Natalie winning? WTF??

Russell was hands down THE BEST player throughout the whole series. As for saying that you need honesty, integrity throughout to win others favours - BULSH#T. Natalie was on "Russell's Back" all the way through. She did nothing .... nothing .... to outwit, outplay the game.

Russell - YOU ARE THE NUMBER ONE SURVIVOR!

New Zealand would love to see you on the Hero's and Villian show - you're definitely on the Hero list :)

Good luck bro - all the best!

Yes, Russell Outwitted, Outplayed each and every player and made it look easy. He is the true winner(Sole Survivor). He played the game better than any other player easily. The jury was not swayed by her words. They were swayed by a jury member. BTW, without any makeup Natalie smoking hot. With makeup and clean clothes she a dog.

Russell should have been named sole survivor, he out played, outwitted and outlasted all and they didn't like it because he played them for fools, Natalie only won because they hated him so much, she didn't do anything to deserve a million dollars

Don't you people know how survivor is played? It's not about just getting to the end, it's the relationships you make a long the way. Russell screwed people all along. That's the way to get the vote of a person like Russell, but a smarter player knows his jury, and doesn't do those nasty sorts of things.
How many times did you see Russell talk to somebody before they were getting voted out and tell them he was making a secret deal with them? I can think of 4 or 5. No reason for that. Maybe if he had been straight up with them (when possible) it would have worked better. Also I think he bears responsibility on his tribe getting beaten early in the game with the way he sabotaged his own team.
I bet he's voted out early in villains season.

Russell is The Man. If there had been closing remarks Russell could have swayed the jury back to the fact that they were "Playing" a game. Erik's remarks at the end influenced the jury giving them the balls to finally vote against The Man. Too bad as Russell made the show totally entertaining.
