'Sons of Anarchy' rides into a third season

After "Sons of Anarchy's" second-season finale hit a series high with viewers Tuesday night, FX wasted little time in picking up the show for a third season. Which is a good thing, because the episode left a lot of loose ends trailing.
The 90-minute finale averaged 4.33 million viewers, beating out the previous "Sons" high of 4.29 million for the season 2 premiere. It was the most-watched show on cable Tuesday night and also beat the broadcast networks in the 10 o'clock hour among male viewers. Following that performance, and a season in which the show's audience grew by leaps and bounds, FX picked up "Sons of Anarchy" for 13 more episodes.
"The success of 'Sons of Anarchy' is very gratifying, and the show has become a bona-fide hit," FX president and general manager John Landgraf says. "The critics have recognized 'Sons' as one the best series on television, and the show has earned its place alongside FX's great drama series."
The show averaged 3.67 million viewers a week this season, an improvement of 66 percent over the 2.42 million who watched last year. Its adults 18-49 audience grew by 75 percent (2.56 million vs. 1.92 million).
Season 3 of "Sons of Anarchy" is slated for September 2010.

I sure hope that Maggie Siff (Tara) comes back also for the next 2 seasons! I think that she is such a wonderful character, & I would like to see her & Jax grow closer together in light of Abel being kidnapped!!! I need more Tara & Jax, give me a happy ending to this story!!

However, I also agree with Kitty. I need a happy ending with the Jax-Tara storyline.. .and killing Sac off...I was devastated!!! I loved him! Also, what was with Gemma and Unser holding hands? And, will Zoebele be back for revenge? I think so....

If I were to nitpick this overall outstanding season finale it would be with Tara freaking out so much her doctor training didn't kick in and tried to 'apply pressure to the wound' or a "stay with me" and at least jump to save the 'stabbing victim' - I know it sounds like a cliche - but even after Cameron left with the baby, I just didn't expect a doctor would fall apart like that.
I agree that Sept is a LOOONNNGGG way off.

Tara & Jax rock, best couple on TV, can't wait for the show to come back. Charlie & Maggie have great chemistry.

Good news. My only question is, what in the world took so long? This show has been kicking butt in the ratings all season.
