'So You Think You Can Dance': No tour planned for Season 6 Top 10
Is "So You Think You Can Dance's" Season 6 Top 10 coming to a venue near you in the new year?Turns out, probably not.
Though a post-season, multi-city tour for the final ten (oftentimes 12) talented dancers left standing has become as much a part of "So You Think You Can Dance" as the actual TV show itself, it looks like Season 6's winners probably won't have that part of the experience.
Last week, finalist Mollee Gray Tweeted -- "I just heard we aren't having a tour?! Ugghh man that sucks for sure ... :( I'm gunna cry :(" -- and though her fellow "Dance" finalists have kept mum on the subject (we're thinking they were asked to stay quiet) a show rep does confirm that there is no Season 6 tour planned at this time.
We're told that it's not off the table for sure. But because "So You Think You Can Dance" aired two back-to-back seasons for the first time -- with 6 starting in September, barely a month after 5 finished -- and Season 7 auditions beginning in just a couple weeks, things have gotten a bit complicated.
But why should the Season 6 dancers be penalized for bad network scheduling decisions!
We want to know, would you go see the Season 6ers on tour if they came to a city near you?

OF COURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go to every tour. It's always an amazing show. I want to see Eleanor and Legacy do the amazing dance by Travis Wall UP CLOSE. I want to see actually all of Eleanor's dances up close. This is so not fair.
With all the talent that got eliminated on season 6 I kept saying "at least they will get to go on tour"- wow- what a rip!
I would definitely go see the show. Seeing these incredible dancers live is such a great experience and not something you can "see" by watching on TV. I've loved every season, but the season 6 dancers are exceptionally talented. All season, my family and I rooted for the people we wanted to see dance live and that's who we voted for. Not touring shortchanges these incredible dancers and their fans.
I'm sure they've assessed and decided it's unlikely they can sell enough tix so soon after the last tour.
This is what happens when they run the show too often. Remember when Who Wants to Be a Millionaire first started? Everyone loved it, so the network got greedy and put it on 5 days a week and before you could say "Overkill", the ratings plummeted. You have to make people want it, miss it. This is one thing American Idol has done right - once per year only!
If SYTYCD airs once per year, in summer, everyone will miss it and really look forward to it. The show's shelf life will be longer. And as a bonus then they should be able to run the tours for every season's top dancers so no one is left out, and put fannies in all the seats.
I'm bummed. I actually really wanted to see them.
I was dying to go see it in Toronto, it would've been my first time, and I love so many of the dancers this season. I hope there is one!
they had some of the best ever dancers and no tour. i'm actually very sad because this was the first season i got my godson and niece to watch. they got hooked, and my niece wanted to see the tour with her girlfriend in chicago. so much for that.
summer's* oops..
Just let this fall's top 10 to on tour with next summer's top 10. Problem solved.
Yes I would DEFINITELY Go. I missed the last one unfortunately, but saw the one that Joshua won. It was worth EVERY PENNY. I hope they give these people a chance to tour eventually. that's just not right. And it's not right for the fans either. I'm really disappointed right now.
