'So You Think You Can Dance': Are Ashleigh and Ryan America's new sweethearts?
Though Ashleigh's performances have been consistently impressive throughout this "So You Think You Can Dance" season, we cannot ignore the fact that she was unable to perform this past week due to injury, but was still voted into the Top 6.
The romantic plea of her husband and fellow finalist, Ryan, asking viewers to vote for Ashleigh despite her absence last Tuesday (Dec. 8) may have played a part in America's decision to keep the spicy dancer around.
What do you think? Were fans overwhelmed by Ryan's emotional gesture? Or did they simply choose to remember what an inspired mover Miss Ashleigh is?
We spoke with the ballroom couple shortly after they found out they had both made the finals and the pair couldn't have been more pleased.
The only wish left on their list?
That Ashleigh has the chance to perform the hip hop and Bollywood routines which she and Russell worked so hard on together...

Korbi, just wondering: Is your blog now just a song-and-dance column? The only headlines I see anymore, for days and even weeks on end, involve singing and dancing competitions, something that appeals to one fragment of readership, but BY NO MEANS to all of us who enjoy REAL TV and wouldn't watch that crap if we were paid to.
Here's hoping you'll find time in your busy voting schedule to devote some fact-finding and news stories to shows the rest of America cares about. Also hope you get over this apparent infatuation with reality competitions. It makes you totally unreadable.
Korbi is probably going thru Tiger withdrawal, maybe she was mistress #16
Then can we get someone to take over her column/blog who wants to report about actual television, instead of song and dance wannabes few care about?
Is this crap really supposed to be good television?
Hell no,Its's Fox trash from the network that invented reality trash
For you to call So You Think You Can Dance "TRASH" you've obviously never seen the show. Shut the F--CK UP all of you.
Kathryn has been my favorite since the very first "in their own style" show. I was luke-warm on Ryan and actively disliked Ashleigh after their audition. I still will vote Kathryn, and then Jakob, but it was Ashleigh and Ryan who made me cry tonight. That was exquisite, and they both have been excellent this season. Personality wise, they're fine, whatever, but what they've accomplished is stunning. (AND I thought she was emotionally brilliant with Russell --Nigel definitely didn't want Kathryn to have any competition tonight.)
Incidentally, I voted for Ashleigh last week because I was very disappointed not to get to see her dance--she's surprisingly commanding in all styles-- while Mollee had had far too many undeserved second chances from the judges early on. I didn't vote for her because of Ryan's plea--although it did get HIM a vote I otherwise wouldn't have given.
