'Oprah': President Obama gives himself a B-plus
President Barack Obama sat down with Oprah Winfrey for her "Christmas at the White House" special Sunday night to discuss his general outlook on the past year. When asked what grade he'd give himself for 2009, he responded, "A good solid B-plus."
After listing the reasons for giving himself a relatively high mark, Obama explained what he could have done better: "B-plus because of the things that are undone. Health care is not yet signed. If I get health care passed, we tip into A-minus."

He also points out that although there's been some economic growth since he's been in office, there hasn't been enough job growth.
Later in the special, Winfrey asked why he wasn't surprised or too disturbed that his approval rating has been falling.
"It's inevitable because there's 10 percent unemployment. When you sign up for this job, fairly or not, you are responsible," he explained. "People aren't interested in what you inherited [in the office]. People aren't interested in looking backwards. What have you done for me lately? That's the nature of it.
"As a consequence what I am concerned about is where will we be two or three years from now," he continued. If I've made the right decisions and the country's in a better place, then my approval ratings will follow, and if I haven't, then I'm not going to be able to spin my way out of it. Or to put it another way, I'm not interested in spinning my way out of it. I'm interested in being held accountable for what I do."
Obama also said that that he found the decision to send an additional 30,000 troops to Afghanistan was agonizing and "the toughest decision you make as president."

Yeah just like a deserved a "solid" B in advanced calculus??
This was a very good interview... entertaining, but still had some solid info in there.
Oddly, when Oprah asked him what grade he would give himself, I thought 'B+' to myself. So he seems pretty accurate to me.
Grade inflation has been a problem on campuses since the Vietnam War. The good professor doesn't seem immune.
Solid B+ is far fetched. The reasons given are some of the reasons I give him a D+! 2010 is the projected next depression. The health care bill is a complete failure to a country founded on freedom. The economy up? I suppose if the economy has increased then that would mean businesses wouldn't be shutting down! Wake up America! Regardless of what he inherited, he did not inherit the health care bill which will end up sinking the country.
I voted for Obama and i'm sticking with him! He inherited a mess and is doing as much as can be expected on the war/economy fronts. The only thing i wish he'd do more is kick those Repub's in the a$$ and stop trying to play nice with those ba$tards (they're not gonna try to help so eff 'em). and end these wars AS SOON AS!!
Gives himself a "B+" huh? Well, he must be grading on some kind of crazy curve! Seriously, liberals must really hate the fact that they elected a freakin' Republican president! (I mean, have you read his health-care bill?)
