Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos celebrate 'All My Children's' 40th birthday

"All My Children" turns 40 next week, and several of its former stars are returning to the ABC soap to help celebrate.Among the returnees for the show's 40th anniversary are Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, whose characters, Hayley and Mateo, return to Pine Valley when it's voted "The Most Congenial Town in America" and Hayley produces a segment on the town for her TV show, "The Wave."
Other returnees for the 40th anniversary, which will be celebrated in special episodes airing Monday, Jan. 4 and Tuesday, Jan. 5, include Eva LaRue (now of "CSI: Miami"), Julia Barr, Leven Rambin (who recently began a guest arc on "Grey's Anatomy"), Taylor Miller, Laurence Lau, James Mitchell and Eden Riegel.
"All My Children" premiered on Jan. 4, 1970 and has been a staple of ABC's daytime lineup ever since. Jan. 4 also marks the start of production at the show's new home in Los Angeles, which will allow it to broadcast future episodes in high definition. The first HD episode is expected to air in February.

kelly is overexposed ---too many stupid commercials and all she is is Regis' side kick

I'm sorry, but Kelly Ripa is not a quality actress, and she is a terrible talk show host. I hope she doesn't make it any further than she has, as she is annoying, silly, spastic, and stupid. Please do not feature her anymore of make mention of her. She is terrible. It's a shame that she is ruining Regis's show.
Maybe they'll keep her back on the soap. She is one of the most annoying people on TV and if she goes back to the soap I won't have to watch her because I don't watch that garbage.
Kelly is a great person, I like her on Regis & Kelly. I also like Mark. They belong together. I love All My Children,if I cant watch it,it is being recorded on my DVR.

I first watched "All My Children" when it began in 1970. I went through my second pregnancy that year and had my son in December. He is now 39. WOW! Congrats on a job well done.
