'Jersey Shore': Snooki's punch faded to black

snooki-jersey-shore-320.jpgMTV's attack of conscience over footage of a female "Jersey Shore" cast member getting punched by a guy resulted in a few seconds of a blank screen Thursday night.

After prominently featuring the incident -- in which New York gym teacher Brad Ferro clocked "Shore" cast member Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi in the face -- in its promos for the show, then having second thoughts after people complained about it, MTV decided not to show the punch, which was placed near the end of Thursday's episode. Instead, viewers saw a black screen for a few seconds, followed by footage of Snooki crying and Ferro being led away by police.

MTV ended the episode by showing the number for a domestic-violence hotline and reminding us that violence against women is wrong. Right before showing footage of from next week featuring Jenni "JWoww" Farley mixing it up with another woman at a club. Sigh.

So violence against women is wrong, unless it's a catfight? Thanks for the mixed message, MTV -- and stay classy.

Ratings would have gone way up if they had shown a full episode with nothing but the punch. I know the only 20 or so seconds of this I've watched is her getting what she deserves with a BOOM HEADSHOT!

Craig I am sure your mother is so proud of you!!!

You can see that punch on YouTube! :) I saw it online before I even saw it on MTV. Poor chick though, she might've been annoying but she didn't deserve to get punched!

I sat and watched that whole episode (torture) just to see her get punched and I get a black screen? I agree about the "mixed messages". They can show two guys or girls getting in fights, but once a guy hits a girl it's not okay? Don't get me wrong, a man hitting a woman is COMPLETELY WRONG. But isn't any sort of violence? These reality shows are getting out of hand. The horrible thing is, the cast members actually think we are interested in their lives. NO, we are interested in seeing you get hammered and then making poor decisions you pathetic scum bags. Mike, from Jersey, is the WORST. He's almost 30 and still thinks it's cool to pick up barely legal girls and take them back so they can like the "situation". I have a situation for you Mike, you're a ******* idiot and will never amount to anything. Go tanning and keep working out your biceps, it'll get you far ****!

She was complaining that he was stealing for the second time a round of shots. Just because someone yells at you doesn't mean they deserve to be punched. And yes hitting a woman is worse than regular violence, which is also wrong, because generally the physical strength of a woman is significantly less. Men and women are built differently. face it.

So women want to be treated equally but we have morons on here that try say that violence against a female is worse than violence against a man. Good thing the law doesn't see it your way. If men are not supposed to hit women, then women need to stay out of mens faces. It is pretty simple. Don't walk around talking **** to people if you don't want what may come next.

I read a quote she said on TV, and she sounds like an idiot. I will never wath this show, but I did see clips, and she thinks all of the things millions of people are saying are offensive are now considered compliments. And women are built differently than men, but I know a few women who are WAY stronger than some guys.

I don't care who you are. Hitting women is wrong. I have been in a abusive realtionship. Since I was 16 I'm 18 now.
