'How I Met Your Mother': Neil Patrick Harris directs
Neil Patrick Harris is adding "director" to his list of skills.Harris is stepping behind the camera to direct an episode of "How I Met Your Mother" this week. The episode features guest star Amanda Peet as one of Marshall's (Jason Segel) co-workers.
"Directing 'HIMYM' this week. Equal parts overwhelm, education, and exhilaration," Harris tweeted Thursday night. "But directing while acting in a scene - very strange. Meta."
The episode, which will likely air Jan. 18, will mark Harris' debut as a director. It will also be a rare "HIMYM" installment not directed by Pamela Fryman, who has helmed all but a handful of the 97 episodes that have aired so far.
Peet -- who Harris touted as a possible guest to reporters shortly before she signed on -- will play an attractive colleague of Marshall's at GNB in the episode. Marshall then gets upset when Lily (Alyson Hannigan) refuses to get jealous of her.

It will be legen wait for it dary!
Neil just needs to write a script and then he will officially be the actor who can do ANYTHING.
Wow, I had no idea that pretty much one woman was directing the series. I don't know of many shows that do that.

That NPH is a talented fellow. I dunno though, I hope Fryman lurks around the set just to make sure the show doesn't lose it's style- she is largely responsible for that!
