'Happy Town' first look: Preview ABC's midseason mystery
ABC hasn't put "Happy Town" on its midseason schedule yet, but you can get a taste of the small-town mystery right now.The show, which comes from the "Life on Mars"/"October Road" brain trust of Josh Appelbaum, Andre Nemec and Scott Rosenberg, tells the story of an outwardly idyllic small town in Minnesota that's rocked by the presumed return of a kidnapper who terrorized the town in the past. A new crime causes a bunch of secrets to bubble to the surface ...
Sound a little familiar? Others have been describing the show as a latter-day "Twin Peaks" for months now, and ABC has jumped on the bandwagon too -- the "Happy Town" trailer mentions David Lynch's 1990 sensation in the first five seconds. So, you know, no pressure there.
That could be both a blessing -- "Twin Peaks" is fondly remembered (and rightfully so) for being a blast of fresh air on network TV for its memorably quirky characters -- and a bit of a curse -- the comparison creates some not-insignificant expectations for "Happy Town."
We'll find out sometime next year whether "Happy Town" stands up to the comparison. The large cast includes the likes of Amy Acker, Sam Neill, Lauren German, Steven Weber, Geoff Stults, M.C. Gainey and Frances Conroy, and we do find the trailer pretty intriguing. Watch for yourself and tell us what you think.

looks great. can't wait.
Looks like the next Harper's Island.
Looks like it could be interesting. Hopefully it doesn't drag on.
The cast is made up of some great people. Love Amy Acker :)
This looks so much better than Harper's Island! Finally a new show I'm excited to watch.
I hated Twin Peaks but this looks interesting... should we expect to see this on Wednesdays after Ugly Betty finally kicks the bucket?
WOWOWO.we should have a exiting night.we must find what we need.so there is a
goodwetsite====onenightcupid.com====where you can find lots of sexy girl and handsome men to go with you for a NSA night. It only takes you one minute to sing up!!!BE FREE,you can have a try!!!
It looks interesting but I fear that it won't be given the time to find an audience and will be cancelled pre-conclusion.
Looks good. Too bad the network has to go all the way back to Peaks to show that they have 'out of the box' programming.
My only concern is that this IS abc. They do not have a good history with staying with shows. They've already put Flash Forward on a 2 month unplanned hiatus, and given V a planned 2 month hiatus. So I really hate to become invested in any more stuff on this net
This show has so many similar elements to Eastwick, a show ABC just nixed...why would they consider putting it in as a seasonal filler?
It looks like it's trying to be twin peaks which it is not.
