'Gossip Girl' Blake Lively's 'Saturday Night Live' promo gives us a little hope
Dear "Saturday Night Live": You had us, and then you lost us.
We were a bit wary about "Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively's comedic turn for "SNL's" Dec. 5 airing after January Jones' disappointing episode.
However the first promo got us interested. I mean, come on, it was cute, Lively and Andy Samberg gasping at a real-life pair of magic pants.
Then, unfortunately, we were given a taste of what too often passes for humor on "SNL": a grown man joking about his virginity to a beautiful woman, but in the hammiest, Jim Carrey-est way possible.

Well, I didn't think Taylor Swift was going to be as good of a host as she turned out to be, so anything is possible.

Never saw Lively in Pants or Gossip, but from her talk show appearances she seems pretty bright (pretty pretty, too). Might be a good SNL.
Second strike from me for this Randy Greaser character. Obviously doesn't get that SNL has ALWAYS been a combination of smart political parody and sex humor. One more strike and you're out, buddy. Out of my regular "read" list, that is.
