'Fringe': Joshua Jackson wants Zap2it to decide Peter's fate

joshuajackson.jpgJoshua Jackson is about to get real upset.

Well, not Joshua Jackson exactly, but his "Fringe" character Peter.

The poor guy has been betrayed, lied to by his loved ones, namely his father -- a fact we break to Josh in the clip below. And we're discussing it.

What will the ramifications be when Peter learns the truth? Will he abandon the team's common goal to fight the enemy and quell the conflict between the two worlds? Will he join the opposition in retaliation?

As you'll see when you watch our one-on-one, Josh is thinking the readers of Zap2it should decide.

Shall we?

Peep the clip below -- during which we discuss Peter's mommy situation as well -- then vote in the poll.

Okay, people?

Let's offer the "Fringe" writers some assistance...

I understand why Peter would be mad at Walter but unless I missed something how did Olivia betray Peter??

The edits and such are getting better and better. Nice pulling everything together with a poll also! Cute - and you look nice also Korbi! : )

I think Peter should be so pissed he switches sides.
It'd be better for the show, I think, having him as a double agent.
I want it and don't want it at the same time though, I mean, they've spent a year bringing together this group, and to have it shattered would just ruin what they've been working for.
But then again, it'd make for some awesome viewing.
Plus, evil Peter would just be fricking sexy. Imagine the chemistry as he tried to kill Olivia...
And to answer the earlier question, I think he'd be mad at Olivia for bringing him over from Iraq, for getting him back in his fathers life. If it wasn't for her, he'd never have gotten back in touch with Walter, and they wouldn't have gotten closer.

everything big P does is sexy

He should be so pissed that he switches sides, does so, and when he gets over there turns out to be a double agent really working for the world he grew up in and against the world he was born to.

If you are that upset about it I will be happy to console you

I think that you(Zap2it)should have had a 3rd option:
Peter gets pissed-off like any person who feels betrayed.Have him join the "otherside" temporarily until Wm Bell convinces him that he was sent to our world for a purpose-to join w/ Walter,Olivia,Astrid and all the members of the Fringe Unit and save this world.

I think Peter and Olivia are brother and sister. they just don't know it yet.

Dave - now that's an interesting one! Does that mean Walter is Olivia's dad or do Peter and Olivia share the same mother in your scenario?

I'm with DGH. How could Olivia betray Peter if she doesn't know that Peter died as a child? Unless that was in an episode and I missed it. Unless Peter feels betrayed because Olivia didn't tell him that his father experimented on her as a child.

Definitely Peter should be upset for a couple of episodes, but not too many - don't drag it out. He should eventually come to realize, with the help of other characters from the show, that the reason his father did it was because he truly loved his son, was devastated when Peter (origal universe) died, and simply could not handle it. Since his dad was (and is) so into the abnormal scientific things and the fact that his dad is a genuis at figuring those things out, it only makes sense that his dad did what he did to bring Peter back into his life.

By the way, I love Matt L.'s suggestion that Peter becomes a double agent (still playing for our side, but not seeming to).

I also agree with previous posts that showing an "evil" Peter will make for some good storylines in the show, but only if he's a double agent. Afterall, he has the perfect reason now, with his father's "betrayal" to make the other side think that they now have a former good guy working for them now.
