Diane Sawyer says goodbye to 'Good Morning'

diane-sawyer-gma-goodbye-290.jpgDiane Sawyer is only moving to a different part of ABC News, but to watch her farewell on "Good Morning America" Friday, you'd think it was her last day on Earth.

Sawyer, who's been a co-anchor of the morning show for the past 10 years -- and, by her count, 2,881 shows -- anchored her last "GMA" Friday, and the show's final hour became a tribute to her time there, with video montages showing her in both serious and silly moments (it may take a while for you to erase the image of Usher teaching her to drop it like it's hot).

Sawyer was emotional throughout the broadcast, saying at the top of the show that she'd have tissues at the ready. "My heart is smiling," she said. "The privilege of sharing my mornings with all of you has been more than I can say." Take a look:

Sawyer will become the anchor of "World News" on Dec. 21. She's taking over for her former "GMA" co-host, Charles Gibson, who's retiring from the post at the end of next week.

If only the rest of us could say goodbye to GMA too.

All the best to Diane Sawyer in her new job.
