Andre Leon Talley joins 'Top Model' judges table, less competition for Tyra
Don't faint, fashionistas. Your hero, Andre Leon Talley, Vogue's "editor-at-large" will be the new judge on the next season of "America's Next Top Model."After a season of rotating "guest" judges filling the spot vacated when "Top Model" diva Tyra Banks fired Paulina Porizkova, Talley has been named as the new fourth judge.
Yes, folks. The man who ruined "Dreamgirls" star Jennifer Hudson's Oscar night by stuffing the poor girl into a metallic bolero jacket and shoving her out on the red carpet in 2007, is currently in New Zealand with Tyra Banks shooting the new season of the show.
Do you remember that dreadful too-snug bolero uber-stylist Talley talked Hudson into wearing? It made her a laughing stock but, hey, are you gonna argue with a Vogue editor?
Andre is quite used to making a spectacle of himself. He frequently wears hats that look like frightened farm animals on his head and dons sweeping leopard and velvet capes. He and resident "Top Model" judge Miss J will either get along famously, or be at each other's throat my episode two.
We can hardly wait to hear Andre -- who was voted 45th among Out magazine's most powerful gay men and women in America in 2007 -- drop knowledge like this on the model wannabbes: "Most of the Vogue girls are so thin, tremendously thin, because Miss Anna don't like fat people."
Anna meaning Vogue editrix Anna Wintour.
Set your TiVos, folks. This is gonna be a bumpy "ANTM" season.

@Grape Ape - I agree with bringing back Paulina. I thought she was a great judge. If the show really *needs* a queeny Black man, maybe it's time to drop Miss J for Andre - he really hasn't done much in the last couples cycles. And the schtick with his garments signifying the eliminated contestant has gotten beyond stupid.
