'American Idol': Happy 30th Birthday, Chris Daughtry -- a video tribute

Saturday, Dec. 26 is "American Idol" finalist Chris Daughtry's 30th birthday. We'd like to pay tribute with videos of some of our favorite Chris performances.Despite finishing fourth to Taylor Hicks, Katharine McPhee and Elliott Yamin, Chris Daughtry and his eponymous band has gone on to eclipse all three in the success department.
Daughtry has sold millions of albums and garnered several American Music Awards and Billboard Music Awards, but Chris initially auditioned for "American Idol" with Joe Cocker's "The Letter" and got a "no" vote from Simon Cowell!
Our favorite Chris Daughtry performance from "American Idol" was "Renegade" by Styx. The opening is particularly awesome.
In our hunt for the "Renegade" video, we also came across this acoustic version of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face." Enjoy!

Its true, a big bunch of pimping and promotion can get you almost anything. CD was a tool to show that no one had better challenge AI and 19E. Glad he got what he wanted. But hes not all that good and others are coming along to take his place.

A.I. was just the exposure that a GREAT talent like Chris needed in order to be discovered by the world. He had been singing, performing, and writing 10+ years prior to A.I. Yes, there will be others, but not to take his place.
