'American Idol' Carrie Underwood shares World Almanac cover with Barack Obama

"American Idol" Carrie Underwood is spending time with the Obamas ... on the cover of an almanac.The "World Almanac and Book of Facts 2010" features the President and First Lady on the cover as well as Underwood and White Sox baseball player Mark Buehrle, who had pitched a perfect game in the past year.
How does Underwood qualify for distinction? She's the top-selling "Idol" alumni, selling over 10.5 million albums in the U.S. and is the artist with the most top 10s on the country chart among solo women this decade. Recently, she achieved her second No. 1 album on Billboard with "Play On."
The "World Almanac," currently in stores, sells for $12.99.
On Monday, Dec. 7, she headlines "Carrie Underwood: An All-Star Holiday Special on FOX.

if you're going to try & put someone down, at least get your facts straight. carrie was from season 4... and although kelly is the "original" idol, carrie's had more success than her.
I don't understand this, Kelly Clarkson has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, has a worldwide tour and a US tour both with higher figures than Carrie. Carrie has only sold 10 million in the US. And her tour is only in the US not worldwide like Kelly, and it was with Keith Urban. How is she ocnsidered more record breaking than Kelly Clarkson???

Carrie Underwood is the biggest selling Idol star and just passed Kelly Clarkson in album sales in two fewer years.
Carrie is the greatest vocalist in music today of any genre. Her voice is clear and powerful. She has amazing range with her falsettos.
The Carrie haters can't stand that she continues to be so successful - notice the childish name calling!
Kelly Clarkson is fat and nothing but a big whiner that blames everyone else for her plunging album sales. Kelly is so over and her last couple albums have flopped. Carrie did pass Kelly in album sales in THREE fewer years. She also has had the #1 album in all genre for her last two albums. She is only getting more popular.

I notice American Idol likes to anounce everything Carrie Underwood do, but when it comes to a great singer like
Jennifer Hudson who have sing for the president numberous times they do not post it. I look at these AI boards all the time. Jennifer sing for the president just recently. I did not see much of any thing about it. Time carrie underwood get a picture on the cover with the president they want to go crazy with it. Carrie Underwood will never come close to Jennifer Hudson voice. Jennifer had some set backs with having a baby and other tragedies but you watch for 2010, Jennifer will make a major come back this world has never known. Jennifer will sell more records than any other Idol and Simon Cowell will not have to buy her records to boost sales. (GET THE HINT)!!!
