'American Idol' Carrie Underwood engaged to NHL player Mike Fisher

"American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood doesn't need a Cowboy Casanova anymore -- she's got her very own ice from professional hockey player Mike Fisher.Fisher tells the Ottawa Citizen, "It's true. We're both obviously excited and very happy and so, exciting times for sure." Fisher is a 29 year-old center for the Ottawa Senators.
Fisher popped the question on Sunday, Dec. 20 and no wedding date has been set yet. The romance began in early 2008, when Fisher went backstage at one of Underwood' concerts, but the couple didn't come out publicly as a couple until just under a year ago.
This will be the first wedding for both of them. Congratulations, Carrie and Mike!

Lucky Carrie! Congrats to her! He seems sweet! (they are actually doing it the proper way. They didn't "Shack-up" for years (which stats show higher divorce rates) and she's not popping out a child being forced into a marriage.., well etc, etc.

I love me some hockey and football players!!! They are in shape. They keep you going...MMmm....endurance. When you find the right one grab onto them. The good ones make Wonderful husbands AND Father's!! I should know I married a jock. Now married 14 years and counting.
