'American Idol' Adam Lambert's ABC snubs questioned by GLAAD
Adam Lambert's controversial American Music Awards performance surprised many, including ABC, which claims this is why they uninvited the "American Idol" runner-up from three of their shows. The network told the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) that dropping Lambert from "Good Morning America," "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and the upcoming New Year's Eve special had nothing to do with his sexual orientation but rather his unpredictable nature.
"Since his American Music Awards performance occurred GLAAD has consistently advocated that Adam Lambert and openly gay artists not be held to a double standard," GLAAD said in a statement.
"As we have expressed publicly, it is disappointing that ABC will not give Lambert a chance to perform at this time. GLAAD's discussions with ABC focused on confirming that his sexual orientation was not a factor in their decisions. ABC confirmed this is not about a same-sex kiss or his sexual orientation but about being 'caught off guard.' "
ABC claims that Lambert's AMA rehearsals differed "greatly" from the live performance, which included an impromptu man-on-man kiss, fetishistic playacting and simulated sexual acts. Subsequently, ABC had started to review its live-show practices.
GLAAD has followed up to see exactly how the network was "caught off guard."

Adam is adorable and His music is fantastic! ABC needs to stop punishing him but even if they don't that's their loss. Other networks will jump for the chance to have this mega talented, intelligent, charming, sexy man on thier shows.
Thats funny I read on EW.com that GLAAD was fine with ABC decision so one of these websites needs better reporting and based on the clowns zap2it.com hires I'll believe EW.com!
I do understand a network potentially not wanting performances from somebody who is unpredictable int he way they describe. However, this time last year ABC heavily promoted GMA performance by Britney Spears, who is known for controversial appearances. It also seems suspect because for the entire broadcast of the AMAs, they were hyping a "performance by Adam Lambert that will get everyone talking" or something along those lines. If it wasn't for the parts of the performance they say they didn't know about, I don't know why "everyone would be talking" about it.
I would just like to say that his behavior is absolutely unacceptable. He is entitled to be whatever he chooses, altho according to GODS word it is not, but he has no right publicly showing that kind of behavior. What a shame.
Alice, go thump your book of fables to someone who gives a damn. God is a fraud and you are a bigot.
I'm so tired of people stating that what Adam Lambert did was "so controversial." Please. Bigotry in disguise is still prevalent in this country, and until it stops, the controversy will only boost Adam Lambert's record sales and his popularity overall.
IMHO - ABC had to know before the event what the song "For Your Entertainment" is / was about - So, Why did they even ask Adam to close there AMA event with this song if they knew? If they wanted uplifting ~ Why didn't they choose, "A Time for Miracles" to end the show ~ instead? It is almost as if they were setting Adam up to fail, no matter what he did or didn't do. There were others with leud acts on the AMA show that were not censored. It doesn't ring true. I feel it is time to let this all go, forgive & open up lines of communication between ABC & Adam & start fresh. No matter what happened - He still has an outstanding voice & way of being. I am still & will always be, an Adam Fan!
You know when the lefties start claiming Biblical authority that the train has left the station.
I COMMEND ABC FOR TAKING HIM OFF THE SCHEDULE. IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH SEXUAL PREFERENCE AND EVERYTHING TO DO WITH A SIMULATED SEX ACT. THIS WOULD BE UNACCEPTABLE WHETHER IT WAS BETWEEN 2 MALES, 2 WOMEN OR A MAN AND A WOMAN. WHAT HE DID WAS UNACCEPTABLE ON TELEVISION.
Except the same thing has happened many times between two women on these awards shows (i.e., Britney and Madonna kissing, Janet Jackson crotch grabbing). It is totally a double standard.
