The 43rd annual Country Music Awards are on ABC Nov. 11 starting at 8 pm ET -- and Zap2It will be live-blogging it! Gotta agree with Terry Lee on this one. I play in a country band that plays REAL country music. There were MAYBE two songs on the 3 hour show tonight that would actually qualify as 'country' - the rest were nowhere NEAR what country is supposed to sound like.
Who in the world votes for the CMA's? And who in the xxxx said Taylor "Not So Swift" could sing? She's terrible!! There's now way she's better than Carrie Underwood or George Strait!!
I agree with Terry Lee and David. Both have real good points. If that's the direction of country music, I guess I'll listen to something else.

When will awards start being given out to those who are worthy, and not who need sympathy? Taylor Swift was not worthy, same as Carrie Underwood. Only good choice Brad.

My favorite music types are sad songs , Fast Rock and Roll type songs and some really Hip Hop...

Country Music is the reflection of the peoples values and their lives in Good Ol' USA. In an effort to attract a younger fan base and leave the aging baby boomers to nursing homes, Country has adopted the teen idol concept. A concept that is flawed in that it requires a new teen idol every few years, and such a new fan base on the same cycle.
County Music has forgot who spends the money and time on these stars. They have forgotten that a kids attention span is, well, very short. Whereas a Country Fan is for ever a Country Fan as long as there is something to be a Fan for, like Carrie and Brad.
In an attempt to secure the future profits at corp-HQ, they have forgotten the hard core fans..."The Country Boomers", and hitched their wagon to Transient Pop Culture.
Somebody needs to kick New York and LA off of Music Row, and REBUILD Country Music's image and glory as America's Music before Taylor starts to Rap....wait...she already has done that !!My god !! Pop Rap Country !
Please, someone direct the Swift machine to Pop Radio, MTV, and VH1 and kick her the hell off CMT and Country Radio. She's a joke and sings like a drunk Brittney Spears.
I want my County REAL, not cookie cutter style, set to the hair floppin, bony pop Diva of Rap Rock Non-Country squealing songs about being 15 in a new school !! Huh! Save it for the Micky Mouse Club Reunion With Brittney and that other half dressed Mouse Diva she competes with.
Taylor has issues and I see a huge blow out in the future as she continues to be over dosed with attention. Its going to be a huge mess and a bitter black eye for Country Music.
