Whitney Houston 'Dancing With the Stars': 'Million Dollar Bill' performance

whitneyhouston_dwts.jpgCan we call it a comeback yet? Whitney Houston owned the stage on the season finale of "Dancing With the Stars" Tuesday night.

The reborn diva had her act together in a one-shoulder sheath dress, first singing "Million Dollar Bill" to kick off the night's festivities.

Although acrobatic breakdancers and other hoofers shared the stage, Houston commanded the spotlight, not only with her ebullient performance and vocals.

There was something old-school triumphant about her performance, and seeing her run over to kiss her aunt Dionne Warwick* after the song was just priceless. We're right there with you, Whitney.

Check out Houston's "Million Dollar Bill" performance:

Nice touch with the faux bills raining down, eh?

Houston also killed it with her '80s hit "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," an appropriate song for a ballroom dance show. Pro dancers Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Chelsie Hightower, Alec Mazo, Jonathan Roberts, Lacey Schwimmer, Edyta Sliwinska and Anna Trebunskaya took to the floor for Houston's second go.

Houston was last seen on Sunday's American Music Awards receiving the International Artist Award.

I love Whitney Houston, but her performances on DWTS were very poor. She sounded very winded and looked like she was going to sweat to death. If it weren't for the back-up singers or her vocals being played in the background, it would have been a total and complete disaster! Plus why couldn't she get herself a wig that didn't bother her and get in her eyes! It looks like Whitney really did ruin her voice, but I hope she can work on it and get it back.

I thought Whitney was terrible, especially with her old hit "I wanna dance with somebody." She couldn't hit the notes, her backup singers had to do it for her - and right she was sweating terribly and seemed unsteady on her feet. Is she clean and sober?

She was really good i enjoyed the both performances very much...I think she's such a groover these days and i like that alot!

That wasn't Whitney's mother she hugged in the audience, that was Dionne Warwick! I agree it wasn't Whitney's best performance, but she's been through a lot so I wasn't expecting it to be perfect. It'll take a while to get back the phenomenal voice she once had.

I agree it was very bad. this should show kids what drugs can do to you.

Whitney looked wooden and not in rhythm with the music. She looked unsteady in those stilettos. Her hair was awful.

Nguyen couldn't have watched the same performance I watched. Whitney Houston was visibly perspiring, seemed to stagger down the steps at one point and mumbled her way through "I wanna dance with somebody" Did she forget the words? Or was this pre-recorded?

she was terrible. sounded winded couldnt hit the notes, screamed to get there. also on 2nd number, couldnt walk down the steps.... i believe she had been drinking. look close at her, she was wasted.

Are you kidding me? Is this a paid endorsement? I used to be a fan of Whitney, but not after seeing her performance tonight.

I was hoping there was a technical glitch, that what I was seeing wasn't really happening. Whitney was barely singing the last song, barely audible, the backup group kept the number going. Was this a trainwreck or what? So sad!
