The second episode of "V" fell off quite a bit from its premiere, while "NCIS" and the rest of the CBS lineup improved on their performances from last week en route to another Tuesday ratings win.

CBS drew 16.4 million viewers and a 10.3 rating/16 share in households for the night, easily beating second-place ABC (11.9 million, 7.6/12). NBC (8.3 million, 5.1/8) came in third. FOX took fourth with 5.7 million viewers and a 3.5/5. The CW finished with 1.8 million viewers and a 1.2/2.

CBS also led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.5 rating, though its margin of victory was a lot smaller: both ABC, 3.2, and NBC, 3.1, were fairly close behind. FOX snagged fourth with a 2.3, and The CW scored a 0.9.

V is sure holding up in the demo, which advertisers like. DWTS showed great growth. Great night for ABC. While NBC had 3 hours of reality. CBS did good, with its boring crime shows. All copy cats of eachother.

DARN, Melrose's ratings went down.

PEOPLE TUNE IN NEXT WEEK WHEN HEATHER LOCKLEAR RETURNS!

I don't want my favourite show getting cancelled!!!

I think V should be on at 9. That time slot suites the type of show it is, plus it might benefit from that reality dancing crap lead-in. we all know lamers will turn in for the dancing show no matter what time its on.

Street Teamers! Everything sucks! V dropped, its a failure! But they'll call it a hit! 18-49 demo doesn't matter, even though everyone says it does! Its a street teamer conspiracy!

Melrose Place will be HUGE next week, with Heather comming back.. We are so lucky thats he agreed to come back to tva nd a sucessful movie carrer while being away from tv. HUGE!!!

And so V begins it quick desent towards oblivion just like the original series did decades ago. It won't be long before it is moved to Friday nights to burn off the remaining episodes along with Hank.
CBS sure rocks on Tuesdays. Still hard to believe that dismal dancing show does so well. Talk about being repetitive and lacking in talent

Street teamers will try to tell you V is doing great, but facts are:

1) The networks don't try enough shows. That's why it takes years and years to get a semi-decent start.

2) The shows that are tried follow a losing formula which we've talked about many times in the past: unappealing stars, producers with a track record of making shows for small audiences, etc...

Also, I can see the fingerprints of ABC behind this way-too-optimistic report.

First of all, who cares about 18-49? Since sales are not related at all to 18-49, why even mention it if not to spin an OK result into looking better?

Second, the word "strong" was used again and again in relation to the ratings, which has been ABC's mantra.

ABC still hasn't had a real hit this season, but every debut of its shows was saluted with the word "strong", no matter how apt...

I do understand that this season has been quite a bit depressing for its lack of interesting new shows, but still... The rush to call every show a hit before it collapses in the ratings should be under more control in the press, as it is not doing anyone (except programming executives eager to spin their failures) any favors.

I can't believe that nets like ABC and Fox have DWTS and Idol and put them on at 9pm instead of trying to build off of their leads by putting them at 8pm. V would make so much more sense at 9 since it could avoid the mind-boggling NCIS and catch some of DWTS's leftovers. Fox has failed to capitalize on Idol the same way, not since many years back when they launched Bones and House, nothing since. Its ridiculous.

ABC has serveral bunnifield hits like Modern Family, FlashForward and now V, that are selfstarters, no need to have some stupid singing competiotion show to lead into great dramas and comedies that ABC has. Fridge and Lie to me are simple badly made and boring thats why they needed idiol as a lead in. Some one lie to lie to me and told it it was good, LOL... same thing for the goodwife, souund so kellie shay and just boring.

Disregard my comments. I have a bad rash and it's making me irritable. Gosh, I keep scratching. I love V and ABC. Go ABC!!!!
