'The View' psychic moment on 'American Idol' Adam Lambert's same-sex kiss
When it comes to "American Idol" Adam Lambert's same-sex kiss at the American Music Awards, the hosts of "The View" are frighteningly prescient.
The women of "The View" wondered why the more scandalous parts of Lambert's act were censored while video of a kiss between Madonna and Britney Spears at the 2003 Video Music Awards has been widely circulated on network television.
No, they weren't talking about CBS' blurring of the kiss on "The Early Show" during a segment on Lambert. In that case, CBS defended showing an unblurred clip of Madonna kissing Britney Spears by saying that video had been "widely disseminated."
(As opposed to, we suppose, the millions of people talking about Lambert's performance.)
No, they meant the ABC West Coast feed of the American Music Awards, during which parts of Lambert's performance were censored. Viewers elsewhere in the country saw a live feed of the ceremony, and an uncut version of the performance.
The supposedly shocking show generated a meager 1,500 complaints, according to ABC. Still, a scheduled Lambert appearance was bounced from that network's "Good Morning America."

Anyone who watches the VIEW.....disgusting. If they rag on someone, it only makes you like them more. This group of ladies is a disgrace to all women....and, excuse me but I use the term "lady" VERY loosely!!!!! If they are hard up for material of interest, how about the end the show!!!!

Adam Lambert shouldn't apologize to anyone. He did his performance with honesty and really did his best. He went out on stage to have fun, do his thing, surprise us with his new song and I believe the kid when he said he had no idea it would get that kind of reaction. I mean this kid has proven himself on Idol as a very gifted singer. His album is so diverse and strong and powerful and ORIGINAL! Yes, it is not the same track after track of everything else out there. The view is a very narrow view and yeah, who is Hasselbeck? How did she even get hired? She has no journalistic objectivity. Adam offers the other slice of the pie and yes some of us want it! I found his performance to be the highlight of the night! I loved all of it and wanted more. I'm so tired of all the loose women who wear barely there outfits and show off their sexuality. Where is my man candy? I am so happy Adam Lambert is out there doing his thing. I love his dancing! I LOVE HIS CLOTHES AND OUTFITS! I go nuts over his singing. Give me more Adam Lambert please and less of the narrow minded view.
Okay my family overseas are laughing at the reaction Americans are giving this. I'm told quite blatantly how is that a oral sex when his head is in his stomach! So yes they understand that it is the "simulation" of oral sex that upset the President of the PTC who called his followers to complain to ABC, but they are laughing at how much of a big deal it is when it isn't even in the correct spot anatomically for it to be what it is suppose to simulate being. So yes, after trying to debate it with them and their laughter just getting more and more harder I see their point. Here Adam Lambert was "simulating an oral sex act" with a dancer and their simulation was not in the right place on the body but because he is gay everyone had a cow anyway. The kiss with the straight guy was whippee just a kiss and we've see it on tv a hundred times all ready all way before 10 pm so the whole venue issue is dead on the kiss. The fact he did "things" with women well guess what that was all part of the choreographed routine and part of the original show without any changes ABC. Which actually made Adam Lambert less gay and more "Bi-sexual". Dragging a performer across the stage by their leg oh my! Like we haven't seen that happen on broadway, on tour, on Walt Disney Channel. How do folks have a cow over that?
