The Kardashians box for charity: Black eyes and concussions

Kim Kardashian has posted on her website an account of a celebrity boxing match her family participated in wherein she sustained a black eye and brother Rob sustained a concussion. Our question is, "What did you think was going to happen?"

Kim posts on her site, "We literally had three days of training to prepare for the event and thought it would be a little bit of fun to raise money for one of our favorite charities, The Dream Foundation."

My college hosts two annual boxing events for charity: Bengal Bouts for the men and Baraka Bouts for the women, which benefit missions in Bangladesh and East Africa. When you sign up to participate, you are required to train the entire fall if you are new and for six weeks leading up to the event if you are a returning fighter.

We applaud the Kardashians wanting to raise money for charity, but what did they think they were signing up for? Fake boxing? We're not the least bit surprised Rob sustained a concussion. Kim writes, "At one point Rob's mask fell off and when he put his hands down he got hit in the face and ended up in hospital with a concussion."

First of all: Mask? Was this Lucha Libre? Secondly, in boxing when you drop your hands... you get hit in the face. That's how boxing goes.

Ultimately, Kim is not mad that they participated and is glad they could help out The Dream Foundation, but perhaps next time you should investigate a bit further before you sign up for something like this, Kardashian Klan.
