Thanksgiving Day TV: Macy's, marathons and sports

NUP_131756_0049.jpgNeed help deciding what to watch this Thanksgiving? We're here with a comprehensive list of the Turkey Day programming.

First thing in the morning, you can spend three hours hoping one of those giant balloons gets loose over Manhattan like on "Friends." 

After the parade is over, you can tune in to any one of the many Turkey Day marathons. If marathons aren't your thing, you can literally watch football and basketball for two days straight. All times eastern

ABC: "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" at 8 pm, "Beyonce, I Am Yours" at 9 pm and "Paul McCartney: Good Evening New York" at 10 pm. On Friday, college football starts at noon with Illinois-Cincinnati, followed by Nebraska-Colorado. A new "Ugly Betty" airs at 9 pm.

CBS: Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade at noon, NFL football Raiders at Cowboys at 4 pm, "Survivor: The first 17 days" at 8 pm. On Friday, college football Alabama-Auburn starts at 2:30 pm.

NBC: Macy's parade noon, The National Dog Show at 3 pm, "NBC's People of the Year" at 9 pm, "The Jay Leno Show" at 10 pm.

FOX: NFL football Packers at Lions at 12:30 pm, NFL Football: 9:30 PT, Packers at Lions, "Kaleidoscope" figure skating special at 4 pm.

eye-of-the-beholder.jpgThe CW: A "Twilight Zone" marathon beginning at noon, ending with the famous episode "Eye of the Beholder."

AMC: "The Godfather" trilogy on repeat, starting at 7:30 am.

Bravo: "Top Chef" marathon starting at 9 am, " The Real Housewives of Orange County" starting at 4:30 pm.

CNN: "CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute" airs at 9 pm. Performers include Carrie Underwood, Maxwell and LEona Lewis.

Discovery: Marathon of "Mythbusters," starting at 9 am.

E!: A True Hollywood Story marathon starting at 7 am. On Friday, a "Keeping up with the Kardashians" marathon starts at 9 am.

ESPN: College football Texas at Texas A&M, 8 pm. On Friday, college basketball starting at  noon (teams TBD) and NBC basketball in primetime (Wizards at Heat, Suns at T-wolves).

ESPN2: All day college basketball from the Old Spice and 76 classics starting at noon, including Creighton-Michigan, Marquette-Xavier, Clemson-Texas A&M, Alabama-Baylor, Butler-Minnesota, Portland-UCLA. On Friday, college football starting at 11 am (teams TBD), followed by college basketball (also TBD) and finally football with Nevada at Boise State at 10 pm.

home_alone.jpgFX: "Home Alone" is on repeat all day, beginning at noon.

GSN: "Deal or No Deal" marathon starting at 9 am.

SpikeTV: "Band of Brothers" marathon starting at 9:30 am. The marathon repeats on Friday.

Syfy: James Bond marathon starting at 8 am: "Dr. No," "License to Kill," "Live and Let Die," "The Spy Who Loved Me," "Tomorrow Never Dies," "Casino Royale," "For Your Eyes Only," "The Man with the Golden Gun" on Thursday. On Friday, it continues starting at 8 am with "Thunderball, "From Russia with Love," "You Only Live Twice," "Diamonds are Forever," "Casino Royale," "GoldenEye,"  "Goldfinger," and "Never Say Never Again."

TCM: Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers movie marathon starting at 4:30 am: "Flying Down to Rio," "Roberta," "The Gay Divorcee," "Swing Time," "Shall We Dance?," "Carefree" and "Top Hat."

TNT: "The Closer" marathon starting at 9 am, followed by NBA basketball Magic at Hawks, Bulls at Jazz starting at 8 pm. On Friday, the "Law & Order" marathon starts at 11 am.

TV Land: "The Brady Bunch" marathon starting at 9 am.

USA: "House" marathon starting at 7 am, breaking for "The Game Plan" and "Elf," then resuming in prime-time. On Friday, get caught up on "White Collar," as all five episodes will air beginning at 2 pm.

Why can't I find the March of the Wooden Soldiers . This is a tradition in my home on Thanksgiving Day. How said we are losing all the traditional shows we grew up with????
