TwitterRihanna accepts Glamour's Woman of the Year award
On Nov. 9 singer Rihanna accepted Glamour's Woman of the Year award in New York City. Video below.In February 2009, Rihanna suffered an assault at the hands of her then-boyfriend Chris Brown and subsequently has been speaking out about violence and what a woman can do to help herself. She was named Glamour's 2009 Woman of the Year for all she has done regarding domestic abuse.
In her speech, Rihanna says, "I am shaking right now, I am so nervous ... It was a real honor to be named Glamour's Woman of the Year, especially because I think of myself as just becoming a woman. I just turned 21 this year. Just to be mentioned in this group of women is overwhelming. I love being a part of a night where we're celebrating women and such strong women."

While I support her struggle to overcome this violent incident, I do not in any way think she is the woman of the year. How absurd.
What a joke. She hasn't done anything for anyone but herself and does not deserve this award. And by the way, what the heck was up with that recent hairdo that made her look like a blonde mountain ram.
Obviously this was meant more as a publicity stunt for Glamour
she won an award for gettin beaten up, and making it public. millions of women get beaten up, and thousands of those women are more deserving of this girl here for talkin bout it COINCIDENTLY weeks b4 her album release. kmt. i do not like her.
