'Melrose Place': Heather Locklear may save it. Again.
Heather Locklear has made her triumphant return to "Melrose Place." Can she save it yet again? Maybe. Was Heather Locklear's return to "Melrose Place" perfect? Damn near. She looked great, she kicked a** and she left us with an intriguing hook to get us back. The problem? That the show can't keep up with her.
If this show were all about Amanda Woodward, Ella Simms and Lauren Yung, it'd be made in the shade. The Ella-Lauren friendship, the Amanda-Ella dynamic and Lauren's hooker-with-a-heart-of-gold storylines are all great.
The problems lie with Crazy Eyes, the Spencer-lookalike and The Most Boring Couple on the Planet. I don't know if even Amanda Woodward can save them. Luckily, Crazy Eyes is on her way out and some new blood is on its way in. (Sorry Colin Egglesfield. It's not you.) So maybe there is hope for "Melrose Place" yet.
The biggest draw of Amanda? It wasn't her quips, though they were excellent, or her fashion, which was also great. It was the note Sydney left for her in the safe. "Amanda -- You'll never find it. -- Sydney."
We're intrigued.
Amanda's Quotes
- This L.A. branch is drowning in red like a steer in a slaughter house.
Now when I hired you to give this place a makeover, I didn't mean smear
it with lipstick and turn it into a five-dollar hooker. This office? Is pathetic.
- Why are we spending so many man hours on a denim line? And I think we
both know what I mean by "man hours." You could've been a leader,
Caleb. But your focus shifted. From your client's assets to your
client's ass. You're fired. And take your bat and balls with you.
- Good work, Ella. Maybe you're not as useless as I thought.

it was great, can't wait for the ratings
Agree! Heather Locklear is incredible. She is the only thing that could get me to switch from ESPN to the CW. Seriously dude. Too many storylines, and some boring people. Still Heather came back with a mission and I say well done. I'll tune in again just to see her.
Heather Locklear really outshines the rest of the cast. She adds so much that was missing from the show, like interest. I can't wait to see how the dynamics of the show will change, once "crazy eyes" and poor Auggie(actually liked him) are off the show. I would love for Sydney to be alive again! I hope MP at least got over 2 million viewers last night. It would show a improvement and hopefully will grow.
I watched this from the beginning and she really makes the show, even though she has only been in one episode. Hopefully she will reamin permenantly. Get rid of Riley and Jonah and replace with intersting people.
Wasn't it f-in awesome?!?!?!?!
Are we watching the same show? Ashlee and Colin ARE two of the most interesting characters on the show. Lauren? Puh-leeze. And it goes without saying, Jonah and Riley couldn't be more boring if they tried. David? Yawwwwn. What are we left with? Ella (gross kiss) and Amanda. CW really, really screwed up by getting rid of the only two characters with story-potential and interest: Auggie and crazy Ashlee.
Seriously, folks, are you interested in ANY of these other characters? Exactly who made the call to axe the only characters worth watching? Heads should roll.
I agree Jason!
I agree Jason!
Having Amanda back is awesome, but these storylines are just so bor-ing that i'm afraid even the great Ms. Locklear can't save that.
The writers really need to pick up the pace and get more creative.
I agree the note left to Amanda from dead Sydney intrigued---so perhaps they're finally headed in the right direction.
i love how amanda bring life to melrose place her performance was great.. CANT WAIT FOR THE RATINGS! the queen of tv is BACK!
