'Lost': Final season premiere date announced

lost-poster.jpgThe final season of "Lost" has a premiere date -- mark your calendars for Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010.

The premiere of the sixth season of "Lost" is marked by an all-night event. From 8:00-9:00 pm ET will be one of the recap-type episodes "Lost" is so fond of, a great way to refresh your memory about where we left off.

The two hour season-premiere will follow, from 9:00-11:00 pm ET. The series will then air in its regular time period - Tuesday nights from 9:00-10:00 p.m., ET - beginning Feb. 9 and ending (most likely) on Tuesday, May 25. The Tuesday night timeslot is new and we suspect it's because ABC wants to pair new sci-fi show "V" with "Lost" when they both come back in the spring.

The first episode is actually a two-part airing of "LA X part I" and "LA X part 2." Much speculation has been made over what the title could mean.

Really smart of ABC to program it this way as viewers will probably tune in more because it is the concluding season with the answers we have been watching and waiting for. It will probably hold it's own against Idol as that show will be back again next year and this one won't. Wonder what is happening to DWTS though. This has been its time slot for the results show for years. You think it will be on at 10PM????

I think it is more likely that DWTS will shift to 8pm to take on Idol, Lost will slide into 9pm and V will move to bring up the rear of the night at 10.

I'm quite okay with this. The only show I watch on Tuesdays is 'V' and that's on the same network so great!

I hope it won't interfere with Melrose Place! (although MP may be cancelled or moved by then anyway)

I don't care what night it's on. Bring me "Lost"!

Melrose Place? Your joking right. V and Lost will be a perfect combo-pack.
