islafisher_confessionsofashopaholic_290.jpgIsla Fisher may make a run for the border with "Desperados," while a hip-hop star takes on an urban fairy tale.

"Confessions of a Shopaholic" star Fisher is in talks to get funny again as the lead in "Desperados."

The story follows a woman who sends a scathing e-mail to her new boyfriend; seems they had sex and then he disappeared.

This being a comedy, he's really just in a coma in Mexico (as happens, right?), so Fisher and her friends have to road-trip across the border to prevent him from reading the e-mail.

Sounds a lot to us like Todd Phillips' 2000 comedy "Road Trip," a guilty pleasure.

-- Method Man, meanwhile, has signed on for the dark urban fairy tale "The Mortician." No word on what role he'll play, but the story is described as a look at redemption with a noir twist.

Filming begins this month in Louisiana.
